Which guns can lead to your "Man Card" getting pulled?

I'm working on getting P22 with can, and I think I might get it coated pink. Why not?

Full-frame, .40 cal, SAO (not Glock or XD) - options?

I know you said no, but have you held the XD-M? While I don't think it looks great, it feels pretty good in my hand.

Gosh, I hate to ask the question (Glock vs XD)

While the Glock and the XD may look similar, the action is different. The XD is single action, while the Glocks are (sort of?) double action. This makes the triggers different, and personally, I prefer the XD. In terms of concealability in the .45 realm, the best offering from the XD...

    MOSSBERG MAVERICK SHOTGUN any good?

A very good friend has a Maverick 88, and I've got a Mossberg 500. Both have been fired quite a few times. He and I usually shoot shotguns together, and if we switch guns, I wouldn't even notice if it weren't for the safeties being in different positions.

VA-ALERT: VCDL testifies to close FOIA loophole and protect CHP info

Whoa...the FLS prints names of new CHP holders in the area? I knew that paper was garbage, but now I wonder if my name is in it.

    Is Gander Mountain lowering prices?

I don't seem to see firearms listed on the website, which I figured, but it's still disappointing.

Anyone have a XD 9 sub compact w/SS slide

I have one, it's my daily carry. No problems as of yet, and I carry IWB most of the time.

Carry at home, Married or Single?

I carry at home, and I am married, with a 10 month old son. I figure having it on me is the safest place it could be.

Keep a shell chambered in your HD shotgun?

I keep mine with an empty chamber. I'm not worried about capacity, as I have a Mossberg 500 Persuader and I can put 7 in the tube. If it doesn't go down with 7 rounds of 12 gauge, I don't think one more is going to help. Also, the shotgun is my backup weapon, that I keep downstairs just...

This would never happen at a range

(the trap stations were about 100 yards to the side of the rifle range, shooting at an angle - at no point was I closer than 100 yards to the shotgunners while I walked down range) then I don't see the problem. I think it's a HUGE problem. Do you really trust the aim of the guys 100 yards...

polymer framed guns with polymer tabs......

Just to note, I have several thousand rounds through my two XDs, and the rear frame rails don't even have a scratch on them. The slide doesn't scrape them, and there's no pressure on them whatsoever. It's really a non-issue.

civilian open carry with a drop-leg holster

I have one when I was in the USMC, but it's been retired to range duty. I have belt holsters for OC now. I think it looks way too "tacticool" for OC. The only time I even considered using it was when I was in NC, and had to OC (no CCW permit). During the winter, when wearing a coat, OC can...

    Misinterpreted Acronyms

"EOS - Ethernet Over SONET" HA! An acronym within an acronym...we're screwed. Myself, being an IT guy who was in and now works for the military, my head is pretty much just alphabet soup.

Is Gander Mountain worth the drive?

I can only speak for the one near me, but I'd have to say that you're not missing much. They have a good selection, but their prices are high (if we're talking about ammo, prices are INSANE). I think it was here that I saw the nickname "Gouger Mountain". It fits. I have one a mile from my...

Do you carry with a round chambered?

Of course. Don't want to take the chance of not having the time, or free arm to rack the slide.

    Can you parkerize a KaBar?

Those who weren't being issued bayonets were still being issued KaBars in 2007, when I was on active duty. They're still around, and the local exchange is full of them, I'm sure.

Congradulations Marine! One little piece of advice though, you're in the Marine Corps. It's not a corporation.

    Holster recommendations for the XD45

I'm casting my vote for the Crossbreed Supertuck as well. I have one that I carry either my XD45 or XD9SC in, and it works great. For OWB, I use a Don Hume Open Top.

Springfield XD Subcompact .40 vs 9mm

I own and carry a XD-9 subcompact. I picked it for the slightly higher capacity, ammo cost, and easier to manage. The recoil on the 40 isn't bad, but I prefer the 9.

would you own a handgun by a company known for horrible customer service?

I wouldn't say that I'd not buy it, but it is a great influence on my decision to not buy it. As far as "not for cheap guns", I don't think that makes a difference. Whether I'm spending 200 or 2000 dollars, I expect to get a decent product. $200 is a lot of money, and I don't want to waste it...
