The .243 is a good deer rifle, but if you want something a little bigger why not just get another .30-06. If you don't like the Winchesters, then I recommend go with a Remington, Ruger, Howa, or Weatherby; just depends on how much you want to spend.

I bought my MKIII 5.5 stainless bull barrel six years ago for around $300; so I'd see if they would take $225 for the MKII.

This is the 7.62 x 25 (7.62 Tokarev). Don't know how anyone would think it is a Mauser round.
