A while back I described how a friends .17 remington 597 blasted the mag out the bottom and all over the place. From advice here I suggested he send it back for a 22 mag rebarrel. Well it worked and he just got it back from Remington with a new barrel and magazine. Thanks for the help.

I would follow what Flopsweat said about firing the centerfire reloads. Especially in a gun I like or with my right hand.

NavyLT, Thanks for your work. I probably won't push the issue. I would imagine the sheriffs people in there would not like to be asked about such things. They may not even know the law. There is likely some sort of home land security/patriot/war/federal/ stuff that "gives them the right"

We just got a new airport here in sw michigan. Along with new airport came signs on the doors saying no weapons. The airport is not one of the places on our ccw that you can not carry. So the county can put up a sign and it is law?
