    Ruger Distaste

I have several Ruger single actions. In the single action world they are not up there in the high esteem category with Freedom Arms or the customs, but I've always enjoyed Rugers and find them a great value. While Colts are sleeker, and the customs are excellent quality, I feel that Ruger...

    Mystery Magazine (.25 acp)

That looks like a Browning Baby magazine. I may work in the old Raven guns which were a lower quality clone of the Browning Baby. Look on the rear of the mag at the base asn see if there is a circled FN stamp.

    Combat Masterpiece

Out of curiosity, what does "unfired" mean? These revolvers were test fired at the S&W factory for function and accuracy so is it unfired since the original purchase? Not being mean, but I see ad or descriptions for unfired guns by owners and dealers and I alwayswonder how these guns could be...

I'm looking for tips on operating semi auto rifles in artic conditions, i.e. Alaska, high mountains in winter, a temps around -10F to -32F. What is the best way to lubricate an AR type rifle? 1863 Sharps Carbine!

So where is the Firing Pin????? It's in the block. Your rifle, like mine, was converted after the CW to 50-70 Govt (have a gunsmith confirm this). The hammer, breachblock and a few other parts were replaced or modified. Some rifles had barrel and/or chamber liners put in place, also...

    Shooting The .50-70 with blackpowder

If this helps, I shoot an original Sharps New Model 1863 converted to 50-70 Govt. I use the 450 gr Lee Bullet and American Patriot Powder 2FG in Starline brass with a large magnum rifle primer. This is not a match gun or loads but I have a great amount of fun with them. I have not had any...

    Zoot Shooting

Zoot shooting can be very economical. Cas type guns, double action revolversor a basic 1911, and a Win 92 or 73 or other type levergun are all that's needed. There is no shotgun stages, (although they may be provided as guest guns). Clothing is very easy as a trip to the second hand store or...

Hell on Wheels - TV series

Beauholligan, You are correct. It seems the Hollywierdos just can't do even a modicum research. The use of 1866 winchesters in 1865 and use of brass framed "fantasy" pistols that did not exist in that time, seem just unforgivable in this day and age. 10 minutes of internet research would...

What's the deal with steel-case ammo?

Steel cased ammo came about in large numbers in WWII. It workd but brass is considered a better material due to it's flexability. I use both types without problems.
