Help Needed: HB4005 Florida Campus Carry

Hey everyone, we need a little help here. Florida is in a battle to open up some of our colleges to LEGAL CCW holders. Of course Everytown for Gun Ignorance is making a stand here as well and fighting us under threat of "angry mob-ness". Please help by shooting an email to some of our House...

    Heritage 22lr/22mag?

Good little gun for the money. Just make sure you inspect it good. I have seen cases where the sights were not alighted properly and the grips left gaps between the wood and the metal. For 200$ it is certainly fun. I have one and a Ruger Single Six. The heritage is my "beater gun" and is...

    357 ruger lcr

Definately look someplace else. Gander Mountain firearms are overpriced unless they are on "sale" in which case they are average-priced. Even their used firearms are priced near new ones. Reminds me of some pawnshops (some, not all).

Revolver, Gift From G. S. Patton?

Here is the deal... what is on the paperwork and what is the provenance? I mean if the paper is a notarized hand written note from Patton or someone close to him.... then you have something. Maybe he gifted his driver an old colt and the driver had it re-finished. On an item like this, the...

    ruger bearcat

The safety issue is not with the firearm but the user. Just carry it on an empty chamber and you have no problems what-so-ever.

Would you send a '65 Ford Mustang back to the factory to add air bags?? Just because it is "safer" doesn't mean better!

Has this Enfield (Webley) been converted to .45 ACP?

Hmm the serial number off the cylinder looks like it had a few mm shaved off also?

    Which barrel length Single Six?

I have the 6.5 but and I like the longer sight radius for more accurate shots. But if I had to purchase again I would go with the 5.5 for sure.

Ruger LCR .22lr V.S. Ruger Single Six.

If you want a .22 for fun I would certainly go with the Single Six. Even as a hunting .22 it will do a great job. I can not express the enjoyment I get from hearing the mechanics of a fine firearm. Also you get the .22mag which is a blast to shoot also. Go with the single six.

    Saving for a revolver

Pawnshops vary in their firearm selection and pricing. Some stores have HORRIBLE selection and STEEP pricing (like new pricing). Other pawnshops are very reasonable and good deals to be had. Probably 1 on 5 shops before you find a good gun-selling pawnshop. Also revolver prices are regional...

    Revolvers still have their place?

The fact that revolvers are thicker at the cylinder is the very reason I find them MORE CONCEALABLE than a semi-automatic. The outline of a small revolver is more "natural" forming to a body no matter where you carry. The outline is broken up instead of straight like a stick. Think about...

Compare the 357 LCR and sp101 for me please

Both are just about as accurate as anything. Neither has an advantage. It is how YOU shoot them that will factor into the equation. You might do better with the LCR trigger or the SP-101 weight may help more with your stability.

What happens if you are struck by lightning with a .38 snubnose in your pocket?

Ummm... not that impressive as it doesn't bypass metal detectors at all. It is a myth.

What happens if you are struck by lightning with a .38 snubnose in your pocket?

That is from the sap and moisture evaporating and expanding so fast that it splits the wood. Impressive.

What happens if you are struck by lightning with a .38 snubnose in your pocket?

    1) Lightning kills 1 in 10 struck approximately. So 90% do survive. Now this is not distinguishing DIRECT or INDIRECT strikes. But here is the statistic from the lightning safety research. http://www.lightningsafety.noaa.gov/medical.htm 2) Electrical conduction CAN set off a round...

This make me re think defensive loads....

20 feet away. 12 gauge 1 1/8th remington target load. Made it through the denim, the ribs, and about 2-3 inches into the shoulder meat.

This make me re think defensive loads....

LEO and Military purposes for shotgun ammo can be different than home invasion. LEO and military may have to take shots past 30 feet. As far as the anecdotal report of the quail vest, have any info on the gauge distance, and shot used?

This make me re think defensive loads....

But it did give conflicting results. Box o Truth tested on drywall. Not bone, muscle and blood. I forget at what distance though.
