VIDEO: guy shoots himself in leg with 1911 drawing from serpa holster

The full story is that "tex" was at the range filming a video and after practicing with the glock and the thumb-drive holster he switched to the 1911 and the serpa. He had already done quite a few "takes" the one where the incident occurs was said to be the last one he was going to do that day...

VIDEO: guy shoots himself in leg with 1911 drawing from serpa holster

Blackhawk Serpa Holster = Negligent Discharge? Well I figured that I would post this so you guys could see and possibly learn from it. One of my youtube buddies had an accident this weekend while he was making a video. He explains what happened in the beginning of the video...

    Fiber Optic vs. Iron Sights

okay, makes sense. now my issue turns more toward the "what model do i want" side. there is a model with standard grips and iron sights and there is a model with "better" grips and a FO front sight. if only there was an in between. thank you for clarifying the aiming issue. if i decided just...

    Fiber Optic vs. Iron Sights

so basically its a circle on the lower portion of the square front blade? thats where the confusion comes in for me. when you have something like that are you supposed to just point shoot with the FO, but use the top when you need it for accuracy?

    Fiber Optic vs. Iron Sights

yes, but with a FO front sight you have a round circle not a flat top or square to align with the top of the rear. sight alignment wouldnt be different for those distances but if you have to cover the target with the FO sight it can make shooting small targets at any distance pretty hard.

    Fiber Optic vs. Iron Sights

"You shouldn't be aiming with the fiber optic front dot on a handgun like you would with a fiber optic front dot on a long gun." what? yea thats fine for uspsa but 99% of my shooting is small targets at25 yards+

    Fiber Optic vs. Iron Sights

I'm currently saving to get myself a browning buckmark. i still haven't fully decided what model i want but one of the major decision hurdles i have to overcome is the choice between "standard" iron sights or fiber optic sights. the fiber optic is only in the front and the rear is the same on...

Surplus rifle rear sight adjustment accuracy

yep, sounds about right, got it out for the first time today and got completely pummeled on the bench. i realize ill mostly use it gfor short range "plinking" but its always fun to just sling rounds at long range.

Surplus rifle rear sight adjustment accuracy

yea i just wasnt sure if they spent the time to actually make the adjustments match the drop or if they just made it a rough estimation. the base that the rear sight rides on does have a slight curve to it so maybe they did take the time to find it. what i was getting at is, does the sight...

Surplus rifle rear sight adjustment accuracy

thats a doozy of a title. im just wondering how accurate the adjustments on the rear sights of older surplus rifles (specifically the mosin nagant). if you are shooting at 400 and set it on 400 will it be right on (probably depends on ammo?) or just be somewhat close within a few feet?

    Mosin Nagant sear screw removal

yea. the point was made, asking why would they take the time to mill an old hex if they could have just went on to a new one? there has to be some old factory worker that knows ll this stuff.

the conversation is lighting up over on 7.62x54r about it. cosmoline are you a member there? they seem to think it may be an old hex receiver milled to round. http://7.62x54r.net/Forums/index.php?topic=7105.new#new

    Mosin Nagant sear screw removal

WOW! ended up being SUPER TIGHT. i took the vice grips and clamped them on the head of the screw and that finally got it. the shims did wonders to the trigger. ive got a post going on the 7.62x54 forum trying to find out where my rifle is from or what its made of.

    Mosin Nagant sear screw removal

im trying to put shims under the sear and i need to remove the screw. in any videos ive sean they easily come right off but mine is like concrete! the screws holding the action to the stock were somewhat loose but this screw is not moving! i cannot for the life of me remove the sear screw! ive...
