Looking for alternative to Dick Dastardly Tower of Power

I've had a powder inc cylinder loader for many many years, and use it about 3 weekends a month. I bought a second one as a back-up, but have never needed it -- The powder inc models are very well made. Many people don't know that Dick only started his tower of power production when Powder inc...

Gifted a CVA 1860 army. Shoot or not?

Either shoot it or sell it. ASM revolvers have a spotty reputation, due to poor quality control. I've shot many over the years, and most have either been very good or very bad. Anyway, they went out of business years ago, and you'll have a hard time if you ever need parts. If you plan on...

    Extra Cylinder for ROA

When Ruger still made the Old Army, you could buy extra cylinders from them, but you had to send in your gun, so the cylinder could be fitted. It was a bit costly, but .......... Now, David Clements has one on occasion, Ebay has them now and then, and forums, like the Ruger forum has them from...

    BP Shotgun loads

Lots of modern shotguns don't do well with traditional felt or fiber wads, because of the way the barrels are bored. Plastic wads do better. Your load with the previously mentioned CB1138-12 will hammer the KDs. I see it every week. --Dawg

    nipples for 1851 colt navy

Italian nipples are crap. Replace them with Slix Shot nipples, available from Longhunter supply or Desperado Cowboy bullets Or with Treso nipples -- I buy mine from the Possible Shop Then use Remington #10 caps, and all your cap/nipple problems will go away. I've not used them, but I've heard...

    Uberti Henry 44-40 Bullet Diameter

My Uberti will load & shoot .428 & .429 soft cast bullets very accurately. Uberti claims the barrel is .429, which means a .430 soft cast should be a good bullet, but with some brass, .430 bullets will not chamber, cuz the brass is too thick. So, I usually order .429, but have used .428 before...

    Cylinder Conversion Question

Harley: Why is the stand alone base pin needed? It's not needed. 3 of my ROAs have Belt Mountain stand alone pins. My two Buntline ROAs use the standard loading lever/pin And they all work great. So do the smaller 451/452 bullets work ok? I use .452 bullets when I shoot cartridges and they...

I have 5 Howell conversion cylinders for my 5 "shoot alot" ROAS. 3 are stainless and 2 are blued. I bring them if rain looks likely.
