Why would he need a holster like that? Not like they are semi-autos or hammerless snubs. A simple thumb break holster will cover the hammer, keeping it from coming anywhere close enough to fire.
My loading books list 17.7 as the max also. I personally use 17.5 under a 125 gr bullet in my 4" gp100. Ive tried working up to 18 but that was just too much. Standard primers btw.

Your CZ should have come with a mag loader. Both of mine did. The 'universal pistol loader unloader acccesory' (UPLULA) is the best mag loader on the market. Last I saw, it was $25 at Academy. The one that comes with the CZ's is pretty basic but definitely works.
Personally? None. That isnt saying much however. I only know one other person who owns a 500. If it has happened at the range when I just happened to be there I never knew about it.
