    Educate me on patrol rifles!

Mr. Trooper, It's funny you mention the Border Patrol using patrol rifles. In that case more often than other LEO's it is used not as a standoff weapon but in the hands as a primary "on patrol" (same goes for the shotgun).

    Border Check point question.

I would not, and have not, told anyone at a Border Patrol checkpoint whether I was armed or not while carrying concealed. It is not necessary. If you are told to go to secondary and exit your vehicle then I would let the agent know as calmly as possible ie don't yell "I GOTTA GUN" Just FYI: I...

Which movies made you want to get a gun?

I am surprised not to see the two that hooked me. The A-team and Magnum PI. I always wanted a 1911 because of those two shows but I have never got around to getting one ( I just have to be different).

US Army transition M9 to SIG P226

Adler, I agree I wish they would let us carry whatever we wanted but I am glad to have the P2000 over the 96D or the Glock (just my personal opinion). As for the selection committee the Gov. solicited volunteers of different skill levels and hand sizes and shot the hell out of a bunch of guns...

US Army transition M9 to SIG P226

Not to be too off topic but someone else brought it up: The HK P2000 is a HUGE step forward from the POS Italian tomahawk (96D). In fact I think it has a much better trigger than my USP compact LEM.

Has anyone ever had their CCW exposed?

One summer with the wife and kids at one of the major So-Cal theme parks: I was chasing one of my kids through a play structure and I felt my shirt ride up. When I looked back there was a very surprised mom behind me. I thought for sure I would be getting a talking to by security after that but...

    FR8 Question

Hi, My first real post here. I was in gun nut rehab for a while and I have recently "fell off the wagon" so to speak with a couple recent purchases. I picked up a Spanish FR8 yesterday in great condition for less than $200.00. I did not know what it was at the time except that it looked...

    Took two Chinese guys shooting

I can't help but think that if your rights were earned (by service) that more people would not take them for granted.

    LEO lessons learned?

My thought exactly... slide out of battery.

    LEO lessons learned?

I would not call this story distressing, other than the fact that she had to deal with the POS. She did not give up. That I feel is the most important thing to street survival. A lot of her mistakes could be chalked up to poor training but it was HER mindset that kept her alive. What amazes...
