    Inexpensive trigger-pull measure?

bdhawk, I have used the lead shot method that you describe for many years and would not consider a spring type. The shot method is more accurate than any spring type that I ever tried. But, to each his own. I'm happy with mine.

Picked up a Remington Model 10

My brother used to shoot ducks with of those. It was well worn, had seen much use and had a habit of dropping the shell out of the mag when you extracted the fired case. This happened once when he was standing over the charcoal stove and the loaded round went into the stove. Didn't...

I know it's wrong, but I do it anyway.

If it is a sin, I'm in a heap of trouble. All my revolvers, double actions that is, have Pachmayr signature grips. Single actions and 1911s I prefer wood. Smooth on the single actions, sharp checkered on the 1911s. I don't care what they look like if they are comfortable and permit me...

Help me persuade S&W to introduce 4 new models

Great reading. I sent this to several friends and will anxiously await their reactions. My latest S&W is a 629-3 that has been converted by the S&W Performance Center to a 5 inch 45 Colt. Weather and health have combined to keep me from shooting it so far but look forward to it soon.

    Elmer Kieth's No. 5

Anyone have any idea where Elmer's No. 5 revolver went when he died. I know that Hamilton Bowen built one similar to it but all he had to go by was Elmer's writing and some pictures that another man had made of it.

Holy cow! Browse this guy's collection.

Whether the flag was hung correctly or not is not the point. It should have never been used as a background for the display and covered with the rifles. Seems that very few people today revere the flag and practice the rules pertaining to it. How many have ever read the flag code...

    Iwo Jima (Lest We Forget)

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. Relating to the return of Iwo to the Japs, I remember one old Gunny said, "I helped take it the first time but if you want it again, you go take it."

    Oldest commonly available cartridge

The 44/40 was used in the War Betwwen The States, 1861-1865 but in rimfire version, not the centerfire as we know it. Was used in the Spencer and Henry lever actions.

    Tinnitus<dammit>

You can learn to live with it. I've had it since 1943. Brought on by guns and planes in South Pacific in WWII. Left ear completely gone, right about one half. But I have heard almost everyting worth hearing so I don't worry about it.

That's what you get when you mate a High Point to a Glock. And besides the caliber don't start with a 4.

Reloading ..... never, sometimes, always .. how long?

P95Carry; Don't really know the details on all the work done on the 629-5 except what I can see. Son-in-law had the work done on a gun that he already owned-unfired. He and Jim Rae collaborated on the job. I'm sure it has been rebarreled but don't know about the cylinder; whether it...

.30-06 target load on a budget and anyone remember Alcan?

The Alcan Company was founded and operated by the late Homer Clark, great trap and live bird shooter. the Alcan powders such as 5, 7, 8, and 120 were primarily shotshell powders but did have a few applications in handguns. The old Lyman Pistol and Revolver Handbook gives the loading...

Need a good source, and good price, on 250 SWC hard cast bullets for .45 Colt. Distributor I've been buying from has discintinued them, Seems that everybody is going to 250 RNFP Cowboy bullet. I still like the SWC Keith style better.
