Cut and Crown Vaquero barrel

I have a Ruger Vaquero stainless in 44/40 with a 7-1/2 inch
barrel. Want to cut off to 5-1/2 inch and recrown and install
dovetail front sight.

Any gunsmith recommendations?

Clark Custom Guns. I send my revolvers to them for action jobs, and they do the whole barrel trimming and re-crowning bit as well. Highly recommended.

I've had good success with crowns from http://www.magnaport.com but couldn't tell you whether the good folks there shorten barrels.
