duty size gun carry for ccw

I've carried my Hi Power in a Galco N3 very comfortably at 4 O'clock. It's best for jacket or sweatshirt weather as the grip tends to print when leaning over or twisting at the waist. In the warmer months, it's a flat latch S&W Model 38 in a pocket.

    Remember this before you vote

Please remember that George W. Bush was in favor of renewing the AWB. Reagan and Bush 41 were not particularly friendly to gun owners either.

FEG Browning Hi-power copy in 9mm. Not the Real deal but still a good buy.

I have a Charles Daly. Mine was assembled by Magnum Research from FEG parts. It is a true Hi Power clone. I got it lightly used with the mag disconnect already gone for $300. Mine has a very good trigger.

    9mm SA single stack compact

I handled a Kimber Micro at SHOT show. The samples there were very nice.

    Project handguns!!!!!!

I have a S&W Victory in the back of the safe. It was refinished decades before I got it, obliterating most of the markings. The original stocks are long gone, but that sweet long action of the prewar k-frames is there. Someday, when I have more money than sense, it will be the base of a...

That's amazing. I handled an SBR MPX with a suppressor on it at SHOT. What a sweet firearm.

    Let's Make a Deal-NFA and UBC's

Nebraska requires them for handguns. It actually isn't too bad of a system. You fill out a form and your county sheriff mails you a card within three days. That card also lets you skip the NICS search on long guns as well so you never have to wait to purchase a gun. Further, if you have a CHP...

    mixing in in domestic abuse

My city's police policy was (and may still be) that a single officer was never to intervene with a domestic abuse until they had backup. These are some of the most unpredictable and dangerous situations cops get into. I think it's best to be a good witness and only get involved if you think it...

Jeb Bush talks gun control on Late Show

He's about as pro-gun as his older brother. Remember the W was willing to sign an extension of the AWB back when it sunset.

Private Property, CCW, and Civil Liability

I can't answer your question, but I would point out that in tort law, there is a principle called "assumption of risk." Basically, if you know of the risks and proceed in light of them and are foreseably hurt, you loose if you sue. If private property is posted, and you decide to not carry...

    Spoiling myself?

I carry a flat latch model 38. The trigger guard would whack my middle finger pretty bad. I put on a grip adapter and it is great. It gives the shape of the boot grip without the bulk.

    .30 Carbine Ammo Question

I ran my Inland through a carbine class. Remington SP ammo was what I used and it was great. At the very end of the class, I ran a magazine of PPU and had four failures. Switched back to Rem and all was well. The PPU has been fine with a clean rifle, but after a 300 round class, not so much...

    Carry ammo 38/357?

All I know is that .38+p in an Air Weight is enough of a handful.

    This is odd

I check Armslist regularly and the people who bought in the panic are having a heck of a time dealing with reality. There a lots of used ARs and AKs with asking prices above retail.

    Hi-Power Upgrades

If assembled by Magnum Research the SN will include the letters HPM. The Dan Wesson guns just have HP. Here is a link to a blog with the info you'll need for the sights along with a good picture of some options. http://gunner777.wordpress.com/category/charles-daly-hi-power/

    Hi-Power Upgrades

I have a CD Hi Power as well and love it. As far as sights go, some have Novak 1911 cut dovetails and some have Browning cuts. It depends on whether the gun was assembled by Magnum Research or Dan Wesson.

    Crossbreed Holsters Issued Patent

HankB, That's right. A dependent claim cannot be infringed without infringing the idependent claim it depends from.

    Crossbreed Holsters Issued Patent

Infringement is determined by the claims as HankB notes. Those are the numbered paragraphs at the end. The claims provide a list of features, the combination of which is protected. Each claim is treated separately. Independent claims (like claim 1) are the broadest. Dependent claims add...
