New Opinions on Bersa Thunder .380

i own a bersa 45 and after seeing it, a friend of mine bought one. i am told by a local gun shop owner that the local police from our fairly large city carry the 380 as a back up, and in this area, many of the leo's are gun nuts/hunters.

    Caps????

if a person has a large supply of caps that are too small, one alternative could be to chuck each nipple in a drill and reduce the size with a file. i dont recommend this as a regular practice, but it would be another alternative, especially if your nipples would happen to be oversize. (nothing...

Black Powder Shot Gunners out there????????

i sometimes use modern plastic shot cups to help with the pattern. when doing that, be sure to use the old style over powder wad and then a lubed cushion wad between the powder and plastic cup. when i first started, i just used the plastic cup and it started getting real hard to load. when i...

    lead and casting round balls

hey smokin, yeah, the 62 hits pretty hard. my rifle is a fullstock hawken that i built from parts. when i get a chance to dress up, its as a free trapper. booss, i believe that radiologist vest would be very good quality for our use. they are also handy for hunting. if you have to track a...

Finally figgered out what to call it.

i have pulled the trigger on an 8" howitzer, and it is a real "blast". dont know about the navy guns, but the 8" has a primer that looks about like a 45-70 blank which is placed in the breech face. that, in turned is fired into a 4oz bag of black powder that is sewed on the rear of the first...

LEO Stops Me on My Evening Run:Asks "What Are You Packing?"

as my dad used to say, "10% of any group of people are bad, be it preachers, plumbers or cops." i have found this to be fairly accurate. the remainder ranging from average joes to really phenomenal human beings. i prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove me wrong.

    Sexually insecure Dirty Harrys...

the vast majority of violent crime is commited by 14 to 24 yr old males. as far as obtaining "other means of defense", they would require some form of physical activity that, as a 63 yr old man, i may not be capable of. how many 20 yr olds can i defend myself from if i cant be armed...

    lead and casting round balls

in my experience, wheel weights work fine as far as accuracy in a rifle with prb. i dont believe they will flatten as well as soft lead in game, but i use a 62, anyway. i also know that at shoots, wheel weights dent steel targets much more than soft lead.
