Do you chamfer and deburr NEW rifle brass?

Yes, and I trim them if they're not the same length.

Do you give up shooting during high heat/humidity?

I shoot more in the summer than I do in the winter. I hate it when temps drop below 60. I still shoot but I don't do as well in the cold. (note it was 100 today).

    4" .357 revolver. Mine would be a K or L frame.

    IDPA holster for 1911 questions

The Fobus holsters are inexpensive and work just fine. Note that the Kydex holsters wear the finish faster than a lined leather holster will. Safariland makes lined plastic holsters. I have 2 for revolvers. The lined ones aren't as fast as the plastic ones but they are more gentle on the finish...

What's the best type of sights for 'older' vision?

I have ultra dots on my bullseye guns. I like nice square black sights on my IDPA guns. I recently had a pair of glasses made with the left lens for distance and the right to focus on the front sight. I should have done it 20 years ago. Shooting with both eyes open the sight and the target are...

    Remington 11-87 Premier Trap.

Steady your aim with a .22 auto.

I might do it with a scope or red dot but I'd never get a good sight picture with open sights.

When to use a paddle holster?

I use paddle holster for IDPA, would carry in one if we had open carry in Texas. Carry my 642 in an IWB or pocket holster, LC9 in a pocket holster. I find full sized guns to hard to conceal.

    Conundrum - Colt

You should get the Python or a Python anyway. Not to compare with the 686, you'll probably shoot the 686 better in D/A, maybe not in S/A. Pythons are great guns, smooth as glass, crank back the hammer and it feels like it's on ball bearings. I'm not sure 1500.00 is a good price tho.

    Thoughts on Winchester Power Points

The Power Point will be fine for the game you're talking about If they are accurate in your gun. If not try Rem. core locks, either bullet will work fine on small deer. I'd choose the cheapest 100 gr. Rem. , Win , Fed, Hornady, that was accurate in my gun. If none of these were accurate, try...

    Security-Six; equal to a K or L Frame?

The Ruger's will equal the S&W revolvers in strength and accuracy. They won't equal the S&W in the feel, or the action, or the trigger pull. You can make them shoot great and even tune the actions but they still wont handle like a S&W.

44Magnum The Most Versatile Handgun Caliber

I know we all have out favorite calibers BUT the .44 Mag. is the most versatile of all. It'll do everything the .357 and .41 will do and more. I don't shoot the .44 anymore because I'm into IDPA now and the .45ACP is my favorite for this game. If I had a 4" Model 29 you can bet I'd classify...

    "Putting down the man gun"

I carry a 642 or an LC9. Both are more uncomfortable to shoot than a 1911. I find the 1911 to large and too heavy. I like the 642 best for carry. I shoot a little better with the LC. I carry for self defense not looking for a fire fight.

Will I notice 2 oz of difference in a carry pistol?

I carry a 642 and an LC9. In my pocket I can tell the difference. The loaded 642 is only 3 oz lighter than the LC with 7 rounds in the LC. The 642 is the one I prefer, for some reason I find the 642 better in an IWB holster also, I'll try a different IWB for the LC as the LC is easier to shoot...

Buying a rifle. Question about best form of payment for my security?

I used a US postal money order on the last one I bought on lline. In theory anyway the Feds. will investigate it as it's thru the U.S. mail.

Weird change in 45acp seating consistency

All my .45ACP reloads plunk in my autos, they don't always go into the gage like they should. I separate the ones that go into the gauge for my 625 revolver and make sure I shoot the others in the autos. I don't know the exact reason why. Remington brass works best. Cast bullets are usually...
