    School project/Statistics

Hello everybody, For my contemporary issues class we have to do a 20 minute presentation on a political issue in America today. I have chosen to present the truth about gun ownership and the spin by the liberal media. Today was our first day to work on it at school, and as I expected, all the...

    Cheap .308 rifle

Hello folks, I'm currently in the market for a cheap (less than $500) rifle. Since I have only one .30 cal I figure there's room in the safe for a .308. I'm looking primarily at bolt actions, specifically milsurps. Now I know that 7.62NATO and .308 are not interchangeable but I'd be happy...

    I expect to be stoned-AR/AK

my ideal SHTF gun is a break-action single shot 12 gauge. durable, about 8 moving parts, and versatiltiy and popularity of ammo make it the best choice in my mind.

Anyone ever used a daisy red dot sight on a Marlin mod. 60?

i currently have an el cheapo crossman scope on my henry .22. .22lr isnt going to break it, and, what the heck, it actually is the best scope i own right now (long story, for a different day). So i dont see the problem with putting a red dot on a marlin, but thats just my point of view

    Colt AR question:

Hello everybody, I'm currently considering buying a colt 6700. I'm looking for an AR chambered in 5.56 NATO. On gunbroker, or any other internet store, they all say it shoots .223 remington, but pictures of the barrel show it says 5.56 NATO. Should I go buy what the seller says or what the...

    Some AR legality questions:

Hello everybody, I'm living in southern CT, looking to buy an AR. The AWB here is pretty extensive (http://www.cga.ct.gov/2007/pub/Chap943.htm#Sec53-202a.htm). I went to the gunstore yesterday to see what they had in stock and i saw plenty of guns with two "evil" features on them, such as...

    Next purchase?

when i think of, SHTF, a reliable tough bolt gun or AK mod comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, i love the AR design, and i'm sure that they're great, reliable rifles, but think of it in terms of "which gun TYPICALLY needs the least maintainence/ parts?" I'm not trying to insinuate that ARs...
