    642 Club Part Deux

Pocket holsters If it's a pocket holster you're looking for, I recommend the Kramer. It's just about perfect.

    Why a revolver.

J-frame snubbies I actually saw a picture of a guy who was carrying two shoulder holster centennials along with one each in both front and back pockets and two more in IWB holsters, one on each side and two ankle holsters for a total of 10 (count 'em) fully loaded snubbies all concealed! With a...

Ballistic gelatin test results : .327 Magnum Speer 115gr Gold Dot JHP

Summer Concealed Carry Living in South Florida. I require a weapon that is easy to conceal beneath a hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts. I have carried S&W J-frames for nearly 20 years in a DeSantis Cozy Partner IWB holster dressed just this way and never had a problem with concealment and I...

    Will Buffalo Bore .38 158gr +P hurt my 642?

I have a 642-1. I bought it fairly soon after it was introduced long before internal locks were even thought of. It bears serial number CAR9451 and is stamped with .38 SPL on the barrel. No +P. The owner's manual warned against firing +P loads through it. Since this is an aluminum framed gun...

    3" .357s

S&W 640. Have your gunsmith put a 3" barrel on it. S&W makes one for its 60-15. If you can have a gun made this way I think it would be about perfect, able to handle .357 loads yet lighter than the SP-101. Oh yeah, get it magna-ported.

Conceal Carry for my future revolver

Just a couple of suggestions. Any of the better IWBs from Kramer, Milt Sparks , etc. I personally carry in a DeSantis Cozy Partner IWB, very comfortable, you can do a lot worse. There is something new on the market now, The Smart Carry Holster. Google it. See what you think. Just be warned...

    642 Club Part Deux

Yipes! "tilden - On the speed strip question XDShooter07 is right on target, I will add only that you can also load only two rounds and get back into action if necessary. Whenever you are loading less than a full cylinder it is important to index the first empty chamber under the firing pin in...

Is this a new caliber? Is this a revolver load or auto loader? Would you choose one for CCW? Who makes CCW guns in this caliber?

    Taurus revolvers

I have read some people who generally disparage Taurus revolvers. I have even read that some smiths refuse to work on them. Recently, I have become enamored of a Taurus Model 425SH4C. This is a compact framed .41 mag. 5 shot revolver with a 4" barrel, weighs only 24 ounces. Sounds like a nearly...

    Florida Shooters Network Down?

Are you sick of accessory rails?

Accessory rails for J-Frame Airweights I'm waiting for Smith&Wesson to introduce a model 340 variant in 44 mag. (3 shot?) with full underlug 1 7/8 in. barrel and accessory rails for flashlights, high power lasers and rocket launchers.

Judge rules state's gun laws prevail

Not to worry. Fiddletown said: "And the further bad news is that if Obama is elected President and has the opportunity to change the composition of SCOTUS by appointing more liberal Justices, Heller could be reversed and all bets would be off (remember, we won by only 5 to 4)." Not to...

Judge rules state's gun laws prevail

Quote: Tom King, president of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, said Walsh is "probably right" in his interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling and its impact. "That's the way it is," he said. King said he had never expected the Supreme Court ruling in the District of Columbia...
