beyond a certain point it's all about ego and prestige. in reality it's about the guy behind the gun that makes it look accurate. have beaten guys with very pricey ou shotguns with my 870 many times. I appreciate a well made shotgun but the prices are thru the roof and not worth it IMHO. YMMV.
I still have some 550 Federal packs from Academy for which I paid $5.99 +Tax. It was a while ago, I think under barack but yes, it shoots just fine and has been kept dry for all this time. I take it out, a pack at a time, and put it thru my favorite .22 rimfire pistols.
I stopped buying from them way back when they changed their catalogue years ago. Used to be a real friendly and decent place to do business but that went to hell with the change in "leadership." I think he got his daughter involved and everything changed. There are lots of other places to frequent.
guess I am just old. used to go to Academy and buy Champion .22 brick for $5.50 and get 2 as long as I was there. of course that was before barack the destroyer was immaculated. times change and not mostly for the better. oh well, my gripping won't change anything.
those prices were insane, IMHO. years ago I used to love going to the show, trading and buying at fair prices. thankfully I need nothing at this point.
I am left handed as well and bought a brand new Browning Medalist just like this one and it has factory left-handed grips. It is the finest piece I own.
