    Knife carry in Ohio.

It is posted, and the CEO specifically told me not to carry (and that it would be a firing offense), so I feel I am honorbound to not carry at this point. Pepper spray could work, I used to carry some for dogs. I imagine "HALT" works at least as well on two-legged folk.

Machetes are good for clearing brush, yes?

    Knife carry in Ohio.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I like'd KY's laws a whole lot better than OH's.

    Arizona ammo ban

I suppose it's a good thing that there's no such thing as "assault weapon ammunition", anyway.

Are flashlights on a firearm a really good idea?

I learned that the hard way! I assumed my cats knocked something over and got out of bed to see what it was and spotted a guy in the process of breaking in. He took off as soon as he saw me, so a gun wouldn't have done much good at the time, but I should have thought to take it AND my...

Does dropping the hammer with a decocker make any nervous?

On my Makarov I normally use the decocker and let the hammer down with my thumb. This makes it two-handed, but oh well.

    What's your preferred carry method?

Does the XD holster actually count as concealed? I was looking at getting an XD45 before too much time passes, but I didn't know if I'd find the hoster useful in day-to-day situations (looks like it would be good if I find somewhere to shoot IDPA or something though).

    Knife carry in Ohio.

Thanks for that last part, I wasn't sure if the CCW in OH applied tononfirearms or not. I was planning to ask whenever I got around to taking a class, but that definitely makes it more worthwhile. I ride my bike to work and don't get off until 7:00, and most of my trip is on a rail trail that...

Most embarassing firearm purchase, experience, etc.

first time I fired a handgun (my new Makarov) I got my weak hand thumb with the slide. Oh well, I thought, lesson learned (wouldn't it be nice if I'd tried to find someone to actually teach me to shoot?) I took someone visiting from Hawaii to shoot a few months later...and he got his thumb...

Split Cases of Remington Golden Bullet!

Silly question maybe, but I thought I'd ask it. I shot a box of Golden Bullets when I got my first .22 (a Beretta Neos). Most of the shots seemed to scatter something stinging across my right hand. I assume it was still burning powder or something--felt like the bits of red hot metal that...

Anyone actually Been in a "Situation?"

I can't believe I didn't think of this one when I posted before: I live in a ground floor apartment in a building where every unit has its own entrance. A few months the complex installed new windows. I didn't know until after the fact though that they were not yet installing blinds or that...

    Knife carry in Ohio.

The big empty spot by "fixed blade" under "concealed" is rather annoying. I guess that means there's no information.

    CCW on campus poll

    57% in favor now.

Anyone actually Been in a "Situation?"

I pulled my gun on a dog once when I was biking, but I talked him down. Yes, really.
