any 3rd generation Smith &Wesson will have an extemely short reset. The Walther P-99 also has a very short rerset. Any SIg which has the SRT -short reset trigger installed wil;l also be good.

when my Dept was changing weapons, THe Walther Rep staed they would gives us P-99'sholsters,mag pouches,night sights and armorers course on an even swap for our old weapons. My Dept declined the deal beacuse at the time no Dept is the Us was using the gun,we did not want to be the guinnea pigs.

How about an M1a in 308? wood stocked with a muzzle brake instead of a flash hider. Another good choice would me an M-1 Garand converted to 308 very pc, its wood stocked and has no flash hider and uses 8 round enbloc clips. Enbloc clips can be had for well under a buck if you buy them in quanity.

MY recent rack grade cosmetically was as good or better than my last service grade .The barrel on my rack grade is definitely going to need replacement. I was planning on converting a Garand to 308 so the rack grade seemed like a good gun to start with.
