Yup just like everyone else said, drop your load size down. I tried shooting geese with 3 1/2 magnums and its just not worth the poor shot that I get anticipating the hurt haha.

I agree with the pump. You can get a short barrel for it for home defense. No its not going to be the greatest gun at the range, but its the gun that fills your multi-purpose needs IMO.

Not the same inertia system as in the upper end ones.... but a decent system none-the-less. Good price for it at least.

I've had a NEF single shot 20 gauge for about 8-10 years now and its never misfired to this day, been a great gun!

Yeah I'm happy I guess, I only really paid 100 dollars more than a 500 and got an extra barrel, 3 1/2 inch chamber, more chokes, lighter gun, and camo on it. Anybody know the difference between the 535 and the 835 though?

I'd vote maverick, its the least expensive, and will suit your needs just fine. By the way, is that a 500 you're talking about?
