I'll be loading for a Marlin 270 win. F/L resizer will be in my single stage (for use when/if needed.)
Think i have it figured out. Let me know if it'll work or if I need additional parts.

sta #2 powder thru die (with
perfect powder measure attached)

Specifically, 45ACP (full size M&P) bullet: dardas 200 lswc. would WST be a good powder? I know it's a bulky powder typical 5gr load net almost a full case (zero chance for double drop w/o a major mess). Is it dirty burning?
help is always appreciated. aj b
Choices, choices, choices! All in 130 gr. and using H4350 powder.
Barnes TSX, Hornady Interbond, Nosler Ballistic Tip et al! Gonna be used for deer hunting (whitetail) and maybe pigs both under 200 yrds. Any ideas/suggestions? or am i worrying too much!
First, This will be the ONLY rifle round I will be loading. I have a Lee 4 hole classic turret press.
And here comes the questions: The powder I plan to use is either H4831 or H4350 and the bullet weight between 130-150 gr. Will the pro auto disk measure be able to throw enough powder in 1...
You shooting, slide fails to cycle. . .
Me shooting, slide cycles like it should. . .
You limp wristed. . .
If it fails to cycle for both of us, probably the gun and time to have it checked out!

I have the f/s M&P .45. No problem shooting Dardas 200gr swc(bb) using 4.7 gr winchester WST. Mild recoil and 1" groups at 10 yards (old man, old eyes and a shake!) aj b
The gun is a 870 express 3" chamber. I have two barrels for it and was wondering which would be better for deer hunting.
1st is a 18" cyl choke (my h/d barrel) no vent bead sight
2nd is a 28" rem choke (modified) vent rib bead sight (not opposed to buying
an imp cyl choke tube).
Which would...
When you go to the hogdon site and click on winchester products, place the cursor on autocomp and 296 shows up. Put the cursor on wst and wst shows up, thus the confusion.
Also didn't know if the gun "had" to be comp'd to use the powder. aj b
Is anyone using this powder for 45acp? How well does it meter? Is it
clean burning? Is it useful for any other rounds (other than for semi-auto)?
I'll be loading dardas 200gr lswc for my M&P. Thanks! aj b
Rick, welcome to the wonderful world of reloading! Using my logic, your first round paid for all the equipment (one expensive little booger). Now all you have to do is keep it fed and have lots of fun. Be safe, Stay safe, Shoot safe!

Welcome Golfish, Start by reading the stickys, get a manual like abc's of reloading and read them. As for me I bought the lee classic "cast" turret ( beefier version of the classic turret). It can be used like a single stage til you get used to reloading then you can hook up the auto advance and...
Looking at a S&W Model 629 with either a 6" or 8 3/8" barrel. Shots will be limited to under 50 yds from either a tree stand or a ground blind (for deer) and hoofing it for hogs. Which, in your opinion would be better and should it be scoped? TKS aj b
