what makes a "shotgun scope" a shotgun scope. I've noticed that numerous manufacturers list a shotgun scope? any reason why not to use one on a big bore levergun rifle like 444 or 45-70?

    first javelina

Our piggies got mixed with pork fat and turned into bratwurst and breakfast sausage. Our group wound up with 5 javelinas in all and only one of them stank once the hide was off. The fat on the largest piggy, a big old boar, smelled similar to the hides. None of the other four (medium-sized to...

    first javelina

thanks. the scope is a weaver 2.5x7 power, 32mm lenses mounted on low rings. a good match as it doesn't ruin the gun's levergunishness, i think.

The first day I walked right up on a piggy not 20 yards away from me while still-hunting a mesquite thicket, but we caught sight of each other at the same time, and he scurried away over a hill with a tree...

    patents and LEVERevolution

just curious, does the 20 years for new patents apply to new cartridges as well? say for example in 1925(?) Winchester releases the .270 Winchester, did Federal and Remington have to wait 20 years to offer their own .270 Winchester factory loads? Or do firearm/ammunition manufacturers wave...

    patents and LEVERevolution

WOW DWfan, way to derail the thread. so leverguns are for people who need more than one shot? well then why don't the rest of dopes just hunt with AR-10s with 30 round mags, why a levergun? could be some people just plain like leverguns because they just plain like them. in the same way...

    patents and LEVERevolution

then is there any way for other manufacturers around those patents so that they could produce their own "flex-tip" type ammunition for use in lever-guns?
