Would you sell your first gun?

My first gun is a Remington Model 35 .22 made in the same year and given to me by my dad when I was 12 years old in 1982. It might be worth $125-175, but it's a favorite of mine that has a ton of paper, can, stump and squirrel fun memories. I am giving it to my son later this month, and I never...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Here is my new SWR Specwar 762 suppressor on my new Thompson Center Encore Pro Hunter with an 18" .308 barrel. Overall length with the can is just under 41", and it will be my go-to deer set up. I also plan to get a lot of use of the suppressor on my 16" AR-15.

Any experience with WMD Guns Barrels?

Thanks for that review - just what I was looking for, and in fact my new WMD Guns barrel is in UPS's hands now. The only reason I bought carbine length was that the original complete upper that it will be used in was carbine length. It worked plenty well enough as countless carbine length...

    ZQ .308 ammo any good?

I just picked up 5 boxes at $10 each at walmart.

Any experience with WMD Guns Barrels?

My understanding is that chrome lining in a quality barrel provides corrosion resistance and extended barrel life at the expense of a slight loss in accuracy. Well I don't make it to the range nearly as often as I would like to, so I am in no danger of wearing a barrel out any time soon. I...

Any experience with WMD Guns Barrels?

I've been looking for a decent mid-priced 1:8 twist, 16" carbine gas system length barrel for my AR-15 without chrome lining. There are plenty available in mid length, but next to nothing in carbine. One of that appears to be readily available for $206 - $220 depending on finish is by WMD...

Can anyone provide times for recent paper Form 4s?

...and I got it today! SWR Specwar 7.62 Purchased 1/27/2014 Sent: 1/30/2014 Cashed: 2/7/2014 Pending: 3/24/2014 Approved: 8/8/2014 Arrived: 8/18/2014 That puts me at 192 from check cashed to stamp in hand, which is about 10 days later than I waited for the stamp on my Pilot 2...

Can anyone provide times for recent paper Form 4s?

That gives me hope, Bill. I sent an individual form 4 out on January 30th for a Specwar 762, and I've been hoping to get a call from my dealer every day for the past week. I'll be disappointed if it isn't here by the end of August.

How many guns do you think the average gun owner has

Average is easy to estimate based on population and estimated firearms in public hands. The thing is, this will be a massively skewed distribution, so median would be a better statistic. Based on standard figures, an average of 4-6 would seem right, but the median? Hard to say, but a bit lower...

    Really great ATF experiance today.

I've been thinking about this topic, and I've come to the conclusion that the ATF has every reason to treat us politely and with respect. After all, we are the ones playing by the rules. We are the ones jumping through hoops that are contrary to an amendment of The Constitution that we hold...

    Wide Multi use cans?

Look at the Specwar 7.62. Covers everything from .223 to .300 RUM. It's not the shortest or lightest, but it tests among the best and is one of the best priced. I should have mine by late this year.

    Utility of bullet holes

A few rounds from a 12 gauge will get rid of bag worms hanging in a branch that's out of reach. My dad and I got rid of a few that way when I was a kid.

KY: Now Requires CLEO Sign NFA Transfer in 15 Days

I got my CLEO signatures back in 1 and 3 days, and I live in uber-liberal Louisville!!! I guess our sheriff is more pro 2nd A than most of the dingdongs in this area. Still glad that this and the other pro 2nd Amendment bills passed this week!

    Recommend a Can for 22

I also have a Pilot 2 and have been very happy with it. I jumped on it when it went on sale for $275 about this time of year in 2012. I've seen posts saying that they are older technology, but my Pilot 2 has been pure happiness and the price was right.

    Show us your wall hangers!!!

Lol, thanks Apachedriver - I like the screen name, but my wife hates it. : D Thanks for the compliments on the shadow box, in spite of the poor photo. I had planned on running a frame around the edges, but I mis-measured and ended up short on wood and interest in buying more, so that's how it...

    Show us your wall hangers!!!

This is a Damascus twist Meteor 12 ga SxS shotgun that I recently inherited from my uncle. He is said to have purchased it during his first military leave many decades ago, and it was a favorite of his due to its connection (however distant) to Doc Holliday. I have no idea if he ever fired it...

Would this Thompson Center Encore setup be an SBR?

Thanks Kid, and I'm glad to hear it worked for you. The reason for this build is that we can hunt suppressed in Kentucky, and I've been trying to come up with host for the Specwar 762 that I just ordered. They're not short suppressors, and I was looking for a good, maneuverable host that would...

Would this Thompson Center Encore setup be an SBR?

Thanks so much, Sam. I was 98% sure that was the case, but there's no room for error here.

Would this Thompson Center Encore setup be an SBR?

I just want to be absolutely sure of things before I commit and spend the money.

Would this Thompson Center Encore setup be an SBR?

I am seriously thinking that I would like to buy a TC Encore pistol with a 15" .308 barrel. I would like to have the barrel threaded and pin a flash hider / suppressor mount to bring the barrel length over 16" and then put a rifle stock on it to bring the oal above 26". Would this set up...
