    Bad barrel in my Kahr?

AlaskaErik: Kahr is if anything, very helpful. I had a bad botch-up when replacing the grips on my K40. Without a word they overnighted a new set to my work. By lunchtime I was back in bidnez. :D They also sent a letter apologizing profusely for the apparent lapse in quality control...

Your stupidest moment with a firearm?

Stupidest thing? Well how is spending $2500 on guitars the last year before Cali banned all the good stuff...? To this day, I am still kicking myself for not buying anything when I had the chance.

Do you have a shooting buddy?

Mostly just roomie(s). Sisters have started to go with, and the GF likes it (though she's considered legally blind - she can still make out the little dot). Mom and GF's mom want to go, and I'm a bad son for not taking them sooner. In fact, I got more female buddies than male now??? Sweet...

From the heart of Los Angeles, PRK thanks everyone!

Wife Needs To Deflect Unwanted Attention

In my experience, if you ever want to find a jackass at the range, send a female to the trap/skeet bays. They come out of the woodwork and love to laugh it up... that is until she smokes their scores.:p I swear, as bad as it can get in the handgun bays, thats nothing compared to the shotgun...

Hunting whitetail deer with ... a cannon!

I'm no entry-wound expert, but this my friends is a classic example of a lazy Photoshop weenie. Forget the placement (which is pretty arbitrary at best), but look at the little red slash below each shot (tailward). The little red mark would not be repeated so exactly on each impact. Also look...

    California M82A1 Barrett

Exactly. The SKS-style mag was the only way he could get a semi-auto .500 approved in Cali for the three month sale. Its all we can get, but he came through anyway.

What to do with disemcarbined SKS Bayonet?

Hmm... really?? I've never heard that, and the SKS is particularly beefy. I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are that even if its true it wont affect accuracy to the point of being measurable, being that its not known for driving tacks. I say go for it anyway. Just my 2 Yen.;)

What to do with disemcarbined SKS Bayonet?

Put a bipod on. :D More tacticality that way. Advanced Technology makes a super cheapo one that works just great!

The myth of hogs as "dangerous game" (semi-long rant)

Shed a little light for us in the cheap seats... Not to interrupt with the blatant newbie question here, but as I'm considering taking up feral game hunting within the year, I'd very much like to follow this thread... Is there a specific definition of "hog" or "feral pig" as opposed to...

Kahr slide not locking back - Mag???

Hey there, my fellow shooters. Picked up my K40 on 9/11 and shot about 400 rounds of various target and PD loads flawlessly with tight good groups at the range. Absolutely love this gun... However, once i got home, i noticed that the slide would not lock back. Apparently the little...

AWB renewal now on Senate calendar.!!!!!

Indeed, I also doubt she will change her mind, as the form letter I received back was very vague, and was of course, expected. I know that few legislators have the time and energy to respond to each and every one of their constituents. It just sucks to have to be reminded of how small your...

AWB renewal now on Senate calendar.!!!!!

Despite the fact that the GOA website makes it so easy for you to act, man, I feel sick. I just sent mine to Feinstein and Boxer. You have to select one of "their topics" in order for your message to be heard. What a pretentious line of :cuss: I used a little bit of redbone's version, but...

Did you ever think of 100 rounds of ammo being "A lot"?

For my XD I figure 100 rounds is just about enough to knock the dust and oil off and "wake" the gun up. A great way to get the day started. But at the range I go to where we have to pick up all rifle brass, 80 in the SKS seems like I'd been at it forever...

    Ignorant/unscrupulous Dealers P*** Me Off

Hey, I know a museum that might take it. Since its not worth stealing, they don't have to worry about theft insurance, and it sounds like its pretty on the outside. Best of all, it sounds like they don't even have to worry about conserving it either! :(

    Handgun soup?

Dang, Kodiak beat me to it. Boiling guitar strings help lengthen the lifespan too. On a semi-related note, I boiled a glock sock to get it over the bottom of my friend's CZ-52. Much more comfy to hold... Never do it to clean my guns though... too iffy, though I'm sure it doesn't affect...

    Allies/Axis WWII calibers

...WOW... thats a lot of calibers... So, to put all of this into context, what would you pick as the 10 most used calibers for each side? I had no idea there would be this many...

    Another IDPA newbie...first Stage ever...

:what: Yeah, I don't think I could do it on one that purty either... Nice grips!!! The one my friend has is certainly not that pretty... Yeah, going 9 on a 52 is certainly a hack, and it is a case by case thing, but still I thought 7.62x25 was more expensive than 9?
