I typically like a red-dot, but I'm thinking some slight magnification would be good for coyotes. I don't typically risk shots out past 200yds with my old eyes anymore...and this AR Coyote stuff is new to me. I'm not looking to spend the money for an Aimpoint/Trijicon/etc, and Magnifier...

LMAO! Not even close (IMHO). The glock would blow out the unsupported case, and the M&P (good weapon) may last 1/2 the life of a "normal" HiPower.

Also, I have to mention...about that recoil, Dad would tell you "just pull it REAL tight into your shoulder...you won't feel a thing." ;) As he taught me, if you hold a rifle "real tight into your shoulder" you don't feel the recoil (much) because your shoulder becomes "part of the gun"...

I'm still a big fan of Bear Spray.

.357 is fine. Use hardcast bullets, not hollowpoints. If time, fire a "warning shot" first...unless animal is already charging. And, carry a small can of bearspray clipped to your belt. BOTH (either) can be used on MOST animals effectively, and are lightweight and easy to carry.
