    Nipple thread standard?

Does the new nipple require Locktite when replaced? Or, anything like that?

    Nipple thread standard?

I called DIXIE and they actually refered me to Classic Arms (VERY nice people) at 765-525-6181. Sherry answered the phone and put me in touch with her husband (sounded like he was in the shop) and he squared me away in that it takes the "Standard" Classic Arms nipple which IS 1/4-28 thread. I...

    Nipple thread standard?

Does anyone know what thread might be standard on the Nipple (New Orleans Ace pistol...from Classic Arms). This was given to me used as a gift, and I removed the nipple to replace it and the threads (on the Brass Frame) look like they could use a bit of re-tapping...before putting in a new...

Found "Generation 4" Glock for sale today...

I WAS skeptical. Glocks ALWAYS felt like pointing a brick or a 2x4 to me. But, tried a Gen4 G-19 today...I LIKE it. (finally!) For YEARS I have been trying to find a semi-auto replacement for the old Browning HiPower that fit as well. Last time I went through this I ended up with a Jframe...

    Possible GEN4 Glock Sub-Compact spotted.

Gen3.5? I sure hope the Gen4 subcompacts DO have the smaller frame with additional backstraps. It WILL make the difference in my purchase (or not). The GLOCKS just don't FIT me, with the exception of the Gen4's, which are a WHOLE NEW BALLGAME, and fit me WELL. It's hard to be spoiled with...

Cheap 150grain 30-06 hunting ammo question?

This is what I'm thinking. I also have an old Mauser in 30-06 (sporterized) and I don't want to shoot full 180's or 200's out of it, and I want to "standardize" on one type of ammo for AZ hunting and target shooting (sighting in) for both rifles...so I'm thinking the 150's will be adequate for...

Cheap 150grain 30-06 hunting ammo question?

Yes! $18 a box would be better. I about choked when I saw Federals up around the $40 mark. Started me thinking . Nathanael, were those Serbian's ball ammo/FMJ? I gotta have something that will expand a bit. I like the Remington Core-locked in the past. I didn't realize they were still...

Cheap 150grain 30-06 hunting ammo question?

WHAT is the best CHEAP (yet reliable) ammo in 30-06 150grainers? I got myself a new Rem700 in 30-06 and I'm thinking of Elk this year. My original plan was to get a bunch of cheap FMJ for practice, then a box of Nosler partitions for hunting. But, I'm changing my mind. WHAT is the best...

Good SMALL rugged 3x scope (or less) with lighted red-dot (or similar)?

Some great links, DRM...thank you. Still trying to sort it all out. I like a red dot for both eyes open shooting, but this whole coyote thing is pretty new to me. Not sure what I'll really want/need...but gotta go with something for starters. :D

Good SMALL rugged 3x scope (or less) with lighted red-dot (or similar)?

I typically like a red-dot, but I'm thinking some slight magnification would be good for coyotes. I don't typically risk shots out past 200yds with my old eyes anymore...and this AR Coyote stuff is new to me. I'm not looking to spend the money for an Aimpoint/Trijicon/etc, and Magnifier...

Are Brownings Mk III HiPowers Worth The Money?

LMAO! Not even close (IMHO). The glock would blow out the unsupported case, and the M&P (good weapon) may last 1/2 the life of a "normal" HiPower.

    .300winmag, .300H&H, etc to .300Weatherby conversion?

Also, I have to mention...about that recoil, Dad would tell you "just pull it REAL tight into your shoulder...you won't feel a thing." ;) As he taught me, if you hold a rifle "real tight into your shoulder" you don't feel the recoil (much) because your shoulder becomes "part of the gun"...

    .300winmag, .300H&H, etc to .300Weatherby conversion?

No offense taken Smitty! Valid question. He is in great shape, and yet will probably never shoot it. (but I will!) It's as much for me as him, but it's MY way of letting him know that I realize that I made a young/nieve/stupid mistake in trading off his old 721 that held so much...

    .300winmag, .300H&H, etc to .300Weatherby conversion?

Fantastic posts, folks! Some options I didn't even know existed. Yup, I know about the ammo. $60/box last I checked (last summer). Ants, that's GREAT news about the .300winmag being an option. That gives me LOTS more to choose from if I can't find a 721 in .300H&H. I know they're...

    .300winmag, .300H&H, etc to .300Weatherby conversion?

My problem is I don't think any of the Remington's ever have been produced in .300Weatherby...so I'm stuck with having to convert something. Thanks for the pricing info though, Ants. I appreciate that. At least it gives me a ballpark idea of what that'll run. Also, thank you Highlander...

    .300winmag, .300H&H, etc to .300Weatherby conversion?

Okay, here's my problem. When I was 17 I traded my .300weatherby Remington 721 that Dad had given me for an M1Garand...and to this day I never will hear the end of making such a dumb move. (the rifle had irreplacable sentimental value). It was a Rem721 that was originally in .300H&H and...

Protection from Bear and Moose...should I even bother?

I'm still a big fan of Bear Spray.

Protection from Bear and Moose...should I even bother?

.357 is fine. Use hardcast bullets, not hollowpoints. If time, fire a "warning shot" first...unless animal is already charging. And, carry a small can of bearspray clipped to your belt. BOTH (either) can be used on MOST animals effectively, and are lightweight and easy to carry.

    Smallest Concealed Carry .45acp?

EXACTLY! (he he LOL!) I just wanted to rub that in for folks back East right now! ;) Hey, I didn't know they were still produced. I've got to check out the S&W website! Thanks, Outerlimit.

    Smallest Concealed Carry .45acp?

With the typical Arizona clothes, it's got to be a small (3" - 3.5") barrel. Don't get me wrong, we have bad weather also, just not very often. For example, last week we had a situation in our back yard that was rather shocking. ...witness the wrath of mother natures fury in Arizona...
