i spent a good many hours at a local 1000yd range today with a few of there rentals
remington 700 cambering the .300 winmag and a couple shots of the .300 win ultra mag
a .338 savage cambering .338 lupua
and bushmaster 50bmg
the range is 1000yd with excellent pit service...

i built a 1500yd range on my farm and im looking for a good rifle to make a sniper rifle out of (you know one of those dilutions of grandeur type dreams of mine. always wanted to be a sniper.) anyways im just trying to find a good base rifle to modify :)

i would bypass a laser and go for a red or blue spot light mount instead this will illuminate your target and allow use of your top mount sights and also not blind you like a white light would
think of a time when you used a small map light it illuminated the area were you wanted to see and...
for inexpensive training i would suggest getting a buddy and going on to www.ehow.com and watching some of there tactics videos and practicing them if you search for something like "disarm" you can find professionals with step by step instructional video on how to disarm any type of weapon...
when thinking of home defence it is often a great idea to also think about what ammunition you are loading as to pose the smallest threat to your own property and loved ones and also maintain high enough stopping power to take care of any "problems" for you new shotgun i would suggest loading 2...

i personally own both the s&w40ve and glock 22 .40 and i personally carry the sigma over the glock, this being said i must ad that i am only 5' 9" and not a very large man so the sigma's smaller more rounded grip is much more manageable for me
