Which action do you like and why?

The choices are between the big 3 - Ruger, Remington, and Winchester. I realize that there are different models throughout the years, but we're talking bolt action here so we'll say current models.

    Best price on Ruger rings?

Yup, I have done it a couple of times with no problems. Other than that, you can find them from forum members or gunbroker. As good as they are, I have a hard time justifying spending $80 for them.

5 yrs of pocket change + CoinStar = new handgun?

I carry a S&W M&P 40c and love it. I would sell the Sigma, combine that with the money you already have, and buy yourself the caliber of choice in the M&P. S&W is also doing their $50 rebate again if you need any more incentive.

    Advice on first .22-250 purchase...

I have an old Remington 700 that will shoot under a half inch at 100 yards all day long with handloads. For hunting coyotes, you will want something light, and don't need a heavy barrel since you wont be shooting a sting or rounds. For plinking and shooting prairie dogs, you will want a heavy...

Looking to get my first rifle

If you don't have anything going next weekend, you're more than welcome to come on over and do some shooting. If you want, we can head over to Jays in Clare. They have a large collection of most all the big brands in a variety of calibers. They also have quite a large collection of used rifles...

Looking to get my first rifle

Where are you in Northern Michigan? If you're anywhere around Big Rapids, we could get together and do some shooting with a couple of different guns.

Help me figure out what this rifle is worth

OK, I did a little bit more homework. According to both Winchester and this site: http://www.proofhouse.com/win/index.html the rifle was made in 1905. Any ideas of value with this updated information? I'm still working on getting pictures Edit: I also forgot to mention it has a octagon barrel

Help me figure out what this rifle is worth

Mt moms boyfriend is thinking about selling a old Winchester rifle that he never uses. It's a 1894 model chambered in 30 WCF. The serial number is 3231xx. I haven't personally seen the gun, but he said it's in average condition. Some bluing missing on the receiver, but no rust. The barrel is...

    Top Screws for Ruger Rings

Ruger has them. I ordered some a couple years ago with their newer torx heads. I wish they would make them a T15 like Leupold instead of a T10 that twists the tips off your screwdriver though.....

    Hoax or Truth?

OK, looks like I will be buying a pound of powder and using that then

    Hoax or Truth?

So I was talking to a guy today that refuses to use anything other than powder. He told me that the pellets ignite at different times each ignition, and therefore cause erratic grouping. Is there any truth to this? I'm borrowing a friends blackpowder rifle to do some muzzleloading, and he gave...

Do you buy most of your guns new or used?

I'm a fan of both new and used firearms. You can pick up a used rifle in like new condition for quite a bit less than new price if you search for it. I have bought quite a few of both, but a great deal on a lightly used firearm just takes a little patience.

    S&W M&P 40c opinions please

Another vote for it. I have had mine for just under 2 years now as my daily carry, and I love it. It has eaten whatever I have put through it without so much as a hiccup.
