    Se45 extractor removal

Has anyone removed the extractor from an SR45? I have removed mine a couple of times, but it seems to take a lot of force to remove the pin. When putting it back together, you can push the pin in with your finger. Just curious if there is a trick to getting it out (the pin) so as not to damage...

Lee classic Turret press info needed

I don't want to repeat the stuff above, but I have had the LCT for severl years and love it. I would add that I was hesitant to try try the Adjustable Charge Bar, but once I tried one, I bought an Adjustable Charge Bar for every turret. It really helps dial in your charge and you don't have to...

I was wondering what you Handloaders use to throw powder.

I know how you feel. I have been using the LCT with the Auto-Disk-Pro for a few years now. After about 6 months or so, I bought the double disk system for more variation, all the time learning that rhythm and consistancy of operation are as important and disk size. I can have my set up...

    Considering a 44 Magnum

I bought a Ruger Redhawk 4" a couple of years ago and really like it. I replaced the grips rhat came on it with a set of Pachmayr Decelerators. They fit my hand much better. That said I would love to add a 629 Smith & Wesson Mountain gun to the collection one day....

.44 Mag factory ammo preference for subsequent reloading?

I bought 500 starline cases 3 or 4 years ago when I got my 4" Redhawk. Real good brass. I've loaded near max H-110 loads with 240gr Sierra JHC and Hornady XTP's through several cycles with no ill effects on brass. My favorite load now a days is a Mastercast (Mike in Il) 240gr lswc and 10.0...

    Lee

I got mine in 2007 from Cabelas as a kit. I really like it. People get bent about who makes the best STUFF. It really depends on what you require from it. The guys shooting IDPA etc need lots of bullets every week or two for practice and competition. I don't blame them at all for getting...

45acp.. Mastercast.com vs mastercast.net.. Is one better than the other?

I have bought from both. I ordered 500 45's (255gr) from .net in Pa a couple of months back as well as 44's. I wasn't too impressed. Mike in Carbondale Il. will be getting all my business. Like mentioned above (Mike in Il) his 230gr lrn in softer bhn are excellent. The 45 colts I got from...

    Mossberg 500A Slug Barrel

In South Carolina there is no requirement to plug a shotgun for hogs. They are a scourge to farmers and native species. Basically they need killing with few limitations on the means of killing. Currently no night hunting, but I think that will change as the population continues to explode.

    Mossberg 500A Slug Barrel

That's what I'm gonna try. I bought some of the 2 3/4 Remington Slugger rifled slugs and a box of Breeneke rifled 2 3/4 slugs. I may not need the additional accuracy of the rifled barrel because in the thick swamps I'll be hunting hogs in, 50-60 yards would be about the farthest I would be...

    Mossberg 500A Slug Barrel

Thanks guys. I was hoping maybe someone knew of a barrel that would work. I'm considering just buying a dedicated slug gun with rifled barrel. The shorter magazine tube is around $30 and the slug barrel is $107 at Cheaper Than Dirt. Add in shipping and well, you get the picture. I can get...

    Mossberg 500A Slug Barrel

I have been looking for a slug barrel for my 500A. The problem is that it has the extended magazine. I see plenty of barrels with both iron sights and cantilver mounts for the standard magazines, but none with magazine loop that fits around the extended magazine. The loop would have to be...

    .308 Win & 150 gr Hornady GMX

I am going to give it a try with the compressed load of 44.5 gr of varget. I was just curious if anyone else had used 44.5 gr of varget with 150 gr GMX bullet and lived.

    Lee Classic Turret Press

I bought the LCT Kit form Cabelas in Dec. 07. It had pretty much everything needed. You can see what includes on there website. I understand Kempf has good prices as well. This is my first press, so I can't compare it to other big name stuff, but I love it. Youll learn pretty quickly...

    Case Tumbler

I have had the Harbor Freight for about 3 years. Works fine. At the time it was a good deal on sale for around $40. I also have a harbor freight caliper. The buttons are identical to one of the big name calipers, it is just painted a little different. I'm pretty sure sure the same chineese...

    .308 Win & 150 gr Hornady GMX

I bought a box of .308 150 gr Hornady GMX bullets today for my Savage chambered in .308 Win. It said right on the box to use load data for regular 150 gr bullets. I got home and proceeded to load the bullets with 44.5 gr of varget (which I use with the 150 gr Hornady interlocks) and felt that...

    Lee Classic Turret maintenence

I have a lifetime supply of STP engine treatment that was in my Grandfather's shop when he passed. I put some in an old oil can and give a little dose to the tam and pivot points once or twice a year. STP is thicker than honey and doesn't drip on the carpet and make a mess. I use a little...

    Lubricating cases. Necessary for Pistols?

I take an old wash cloth, spray a little Pledge on it and wipe .357 & .44 cases with it before running them through the resizing die. It works pretty well, but it's probably not necessary. It makes resizing a little smoother though. If nothing else it smells good and wipes off any dust...

Mastercast (carbondale IL) 44 mag 240gr

Has anybody loaded Mike's Mastercast (Carbondale IL) 240gr 44 cal lswc bullets for 44 mag using 10 gr of unique? I have read different start and max loads that vary greatly with lead bullets. I assume this is because of the difference in hardness (BHN) of the tested bullets. I'm looking for...
