slugs in 3.5 inch chambered 12 ga

best accuracy is attained by getting the slug as close to the rifling as possibly before riring in a rifled barrel. as long as there is a forcing cone I don't think it would be dangerous to shoot 3 inch slugs from a 3-1/2 barrel, but I have shot plenty of 2-3/4 slugs in 3 inch barrels...

    Stag Arms 15L compatibility question

to my knowledge, the lowers are identical. The only difference may be in the safety selector. An ambi selector may be on your wish list.

Pistol caliber carbines - what use?

some indoor ranges do not allow "rifle rounds". It also uses pistol ammo, so if you set it up the same as your carry pistol, you have the same ammo for both. Fun to shoot, low recoil, easy to control.

"MACHINE GUN SAMMY," A PERFECT HALLOWEEN PICK (Brady hates Alito)

I wonder, is Alito and avid shooter? Class 3 himself? Heck, I'd rent him a machinegun at knob creek on my tab just for the photo op......

    DPMS any good?

I am one of the owners of Superior Arms. We are a startup manufacturer in Iowa. We manufacture AR15 style weapons. I don't know where you are located, but I'd love the chance to quote you a rifle, or parts, whatever you are looking to buy. I don't like getting into the " I am better" game. We...

    .300 MAG or 7MM

on foot on the ground in brown bear and moose country I'd go with a 300 or a 338. Bolt guns are highly reliable, but slow depending on shooter and position( running like hell trying to reload and rechamber could not be fun) a smaller bullet may expand, but a bigger bullet will never shrink. For...

    No more Bushmaster .308s?

I have one that runs well. The statement made by Troy at ARFcom was made even before the rifle came out and anyone saw one. It is hardly an astute observation based on a test firing session. I would rather believe that with DPMS entering the market at about the same time at a much lower MSRP...

    Debating morons, need help

There are AP rounds for the 50 used in anti ordnance roles in various branches of the military. However, conventional rounds in a conventional M2 heavy machine gun I highly doubt would do any permanent damage by a near miss. However, machine gun belt ammo is not meant to be nail driver...

colt AR pin size and chip mccormick trigger

Small pins are 0.156 diameter, or 5/32. To install the CMC triggers, you have to pretty much disassemble your lower. The pistol grip has to come off to remove the safety selector detent, be careful not to loose that. My experience is that Chip makes a sweet trigger, consistant sample to sample...

Best defense reliability: pump or semi-auto?

The best home D shotgun is the one you have the no problem betting your life on. If you have any inkling of doubt in it, the game is up. I have seen guys do amazing things with well worn model 12 winchesters( and that was basically the only gun they I had seen them carry afield in 20 years). I...

What to do when my new AR15 arrives?

it depends on the barrel and chamber. I had an RRA that would only feed federal and black hills reliably. It had a "match chamber" supposedly( bought it seciondahnd years ago, not exactly sure what he meant( but it drilled). The Nato chambers are more forgiving in my opinion. RRA has a Wylde...

Looking for a reliable SHTF rifle, have no clue what to look for

cmp garand, AR15, or a used "franken" fal.... The garand speaks for itself, any mission, any conditions, any reasonable engagement range. The non dsa used FAL's are an excellent choice as well. I bought my FAL Congo for $500 with a bunch of aluminum mags. A lot of AR's out there in that price...

    AR-15 Double Feeds?

The mags I use to troubleshoot with are some ancient straight 20 rounders with Hartford manufacturing floorplates. If you only have trouble with certain mags, it could be a mag issue. If you have trouble with all mags it is something else. Several possibilities exist. The mag is the only one...
