    Ruger P Series swapping

I took measurements of the slide rail of my P90. I am curious to see how the P89, P94, and 944 "measures up". What I found is that the slide rails are roughly .746 Inches or 18.94mm although this might be off a little.

    In the market for a new/used .357

    I was bouncing back and forth over a S&W 686 and a Ruger GP-100. I stumbled on a good deal with a barely used S&W 686-4 6 Inch. I wouldn't trade it for a new GP-100.

Galil Style Golani Rifle on J&Gsales...thoughts?

Birddog1911: I have owned a Bushmaster AR 15. Pretty reputable brand isn't it? If the AR's are so wonderful with their design, then why are they all seemingly going from Stoners Direct Gas Impingement to a piston design like the AK's? My best friend is a Former Marine, and currently Army...

    I never liked Revolvers...

It's hard to beat a S&W. I purchased a Model 66 4 inch to flip and make some money on ($280 cash, and not wore at all.) then found I could not part with it. It's going to be my CCW if Illinois ever gets with the rest of the country. BTW Anyone have a suggestion for a good shoulder/carry...

My brother is a professional welder, modifying a magazine shouldn't be hard.

I need a little Ortgies help...

Looking I have several of these pistols (10) I believe. Since I collect them. One thing I've found is that the firing pin varies in dimensions. It's the weak link in these pistols, and prone to breakage. I have 3 break myself. I have found that one of my after-market pins was made significantly...

    What's your "never buy" gun?

Never buy: 1. Expensive rimfires i.e. .17 HMR, 22 Mag 2. I'd like to say a plastic -- I mean, polymer gun, but all the manufacturers are going to them so I might eventually pick one up if a high quality pistol isn't made to meet my needs. 3. Jam-O-Matics - I love the feel of the Sig Mosquito...

    Ruger P Series swapping

Z-Michigan: Thanks for the correction regarding the 94 and 944, makes my future questioning more intelligent. But I still pose the same base question. You say "I do know that the P90 frame is slightly different from the P89 frame." In what respect is it different? In researching this question...

    Ruger P Series swapping

Will a Ruger P89 Slide and barrel fit on a Ruger P90 Frame? or Vise Versa? Taking into account the same decocker and saftey setup. (e.g. a P89DC on a P90DC, or just the P89 DA on P90 DA). What about a P94 (40 S&W) will that slide onto either of the other frames or vise versa? I have yet to...

Galil Style Golani Rifle on J&Gsales...thoughts?

I have one, and I like it. I too was leaning toward an AR-15, but I wanted reliability. So I went with an AK design first looking for a Saiga 223, and the Golani (Galil) fell in my lap at a gunshow. On issue with the Galil is it's heavy. Acording to Wikipedia (a Galil SAR): "SAR 5.56mm: 3.75 kg...

    What's your "never" gun

I echo LawScholar. Any gun I have gotten as a gift never leaves my collection. As regarding ForumSurfer's comment "It is the memories of the time spent, not the actual firearm that I value.", I disagree. When you open up your gun safe and look inside seeing in my case, a Marlin 60 that my mom...

    Ok pick your 5

Guns which ones... These categories overlap. Have to break it down to Handguns and Long Guns. Handguns: 1.) Plinking/Fun - Plinking: Tossup between my Taurus 92 with 22 conversion, and my K22 Revolver. Fun: S&W 686, although I just got a Ruger P90 I have yet to shoot. 2) Utility/Woods -...

mossberg 590 with a steel receiver...do they exist???

There are steel receiver Mossberg's, the Parkerized 590A1's. As Parkerizing can not be done on Aluminum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkerizing. Simple as that.

Learning from your mistakes. Your biggest OOPS moments.

Could have shot my dog. I own 30 guns and am generally very safe as I grew up knowing the 4 rules intimately. However, the other day I made an OOPS. I was out shooting my bb gun for practice. I had my dog out with me and I thought for sure she was safely away from my homemade shooting range...
