I have a newer (less than 6months) Bushnell Legend riflescope. I recently let the father inl -law use it and the rifle it sits on on a p dog hunt in S. Dakota. When I got it back I took it to the range to recheck zero from his trip only to find the adjustment bar on the elevation is broken. It...
I've done some searching and am not satisfied with what I've found. Ok I've got a 700 SPS in 270wsm and really dislike the cheap syn. stock. I plan to swap out for a boyds or some other laminate stock. I am going this route to add some weight to the rifle to tame the recoil a bit and I prefer...
BINGO! I think you are 100% correct. I think that the people that spent money on guns that they couldn't afford will start selling and trading them in/off. I've been seeing this locally already. As far as reloading components go they are still priced high. Bullets and powder jumped 15-25% from...
BULLSEYE! I have a Sigma 9mm and love it. I carry it everyday and trust my life with it. It is accurate. The trigger can be smoothed out rather easily. Is it as smooth and crisp as a SA? NO. But it is better than my buddies G19 by far. All that for a couple hundred less and basically the same...
I have one exactly like it. Regardless of what some people say the dampner makes a difference! Moving it in or out my poi shifts and groups tighten. Mine is in roughly 1/2" from the end of the bbl. So far the best ammo I've found are 50gr UMC hollow points. 5/8" groups at 100yds. No complaints here!
After looking at ballistics tables I think that the .270wsm is what I'm looking for. Flatter shooting and more downrange energy than a .308 or a 30.06. My uncle shot his bull moose here in MN with a .270win. I know shot placement is key. I think I'm gonna pick up a Rem. 700SPS in .270wsm. From...
I went with a 1.258" oal. Remington primers(all i could find). Cases were a mix of Remmys and Winchesters. I'm gona try a 6.3 gr charge and see what that does.
It was supposed to say that I got 2" groups at 30' shooting offhand. And I meant to say thats better than what I could get with factory ammo(4"). This is what happens when you get back from the range late and have to hurry back to work! Thanks for picking that out!
After all the great help from the reloading section I now hae another question for you great people on thr. I am in the market right now for a new rifle. It will be used mainly for deer and shooting paper but also plan to use it on an elk trip hopefully in the near future. The 2 calibers I am...
Just got back from shooting different weight charges and with different bullets. We found that there must have been some lighter charge throws in the first batch we did. That was cured in the 2nd batch. I did up some lighter and heavier loads lastnight and shot today. 5.5 gr. of unique wouldn't...
My 4" groups were off hand shooting w/the factory ammo. The reloads wouldn't hold anything tighter than 10". I will try some different loads and I picked up some bulk winchester 230gr. fmj's to try. I will shorten the o.a.l. to about 1.25" and try this again with loads on either side of my...
Thanks for all the suggestions. Here's the rundown: I shoot a Taurus pt1911, my buddy shoots a Kimber gold match. We both shoot A LOT so thats why we got into reloading. We both would shoot consistant sub 4" 8 shot groups at 30 ft.-(being conservative). I don't think we are the problem!
2nd. I...
They are factory cases. A mix between Win. and Rem. I am throwing powder charges from a rcbs uniflow being careful to check for consistancy before loading. No signs of shavings. Crimp measurements are the same as factory umc ammo, measuring at the mouth after bullet is seated and taper crimped...
This is my first post on here after reading and looking thru this forum for a while. I recently got into reloading and am encountering some trouble with my 45acp handloads. Here is my recipe.>
5.8 gr. of unique,1.26"o.a.l.,230gr. hornady fmjrn, remington 2.5 lg. pistol primers.
I'm not...
