Groomsman gifts: Handguns. now which one?

If you want .38's and are okay with Taurus, JG Sales now has a lot of used 4 inch model 82s for ~150 each. I can't comment on how good those are though. Another option in that vein would be surplus CZ82s (~200 each), P64 (~150 each).

    Northern AZ Weekend Hunt

Thanks a lot. I was on the fence about going, but these pictures just pushed me over the edge; I really hope I can see some of those elk.

    Northern AZ Weekend Hunt

That looks great! I am hoping to head up to that area to hunt squirrel later this month, but I'm not terrible experienced in the area (moved to AZ from the midwest a few years ago). I've heard the Flagstaff-Williams area is good for them - any tips would be greatly appreciated!

What about using a sheetrock knife for caping elk?

While the original version lacks a guard, they do have some models that do have guards.

FTF gun sale - they come to you, meet in the middle, or you go there?

In my experience, I expect buyers to come to me if they live reasonably close. If its been hard to sell, or if the buyer seems REALLY serious about buying it, I will meet them halfway. I've been burned on too many classified ad sales where buyers totally flaked. In any case, I meet them in a...

Skateboard tape on a wood stock?

Another option I have used to to put a base cover of electrical tape, then the skateboard tape over it. The electrical tape glue won't hurt the finish.

    T03-8M Russian made .22lr

I have the very similar TOZ 17, which, like mentioned before about the 8, is remarkably accurate. Unlike the other poster, though, mine may have the worst trigger of any gun I own. But it was dirt cheap, and really fun.

    C&R question

Apparently, the pack they send you can be used for several applications. C&R does not require a fingerprint. I think it explains this somewhere in the BATF FAQ's on their website.

Help ID my inheritance (S&W .38 is all I know)

Also, I just noticed, is that a "V" or a "VS" on the left of the butt? I can't see because of the lanyard loop. These "V" prefixes are what usually denote the so-called "victory" models.

Help ID my inheritance (S&W .38 is all I know)

Looks like a Smith and Wesson Military and Police revolver, with markings of the Austrian Police. correct me if I'm wrong, but most likely it is a "victory" model, made for the British, then given to the Austrian police force after World War II. These were produced, I think, 1941-45. It is...

The good the bad the ugly of Hollywood

The book is called "Gone to Texas", and there is a sequel ("The Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales). Both are decent, though a little over the top in parts.

Why would i own a Handgun?

I think this is a common misconception, certainly one I have seen in a lot of people, shooters and non-shooters alike, when first using a handgun. They figure you just point your hand at something and boom, you hit it. It is always amazing how difficult it is to hit targets!

why do all Smith & Wesson's have...

The language spoken in Brazil is Portuguese, as it used to be a colony of Portugal.

    Wheres this museum?

It's hard to tell from just that, but it looks kind of like the JM Davis museum in Oklahoma. Even if that isn't it, the Davis Museum is amazing. http://www.thegunmuseum.com/

    Gun Belts?

I have one from the Belt Man. I wear it everyday, carrying or not. It looks really nice, is very thick and stiff. I like it a lot.

    Skunks

This is not correct. See the IACUC page on Euthanasia: http://www.avma.org/issues/animal_welfare/euthanasia.pdf Under the section entitled " Appendix 4—Some unacceptable agents and methods of euthanasia" : " Drowning is not a means of euthanasia and is inhumane"

    Glock knock off...

Maybe they were talking about the ISSC M22 pistols. They look a lot like Glocks, but are .22s. EG: http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/p/issc-austria-m22,-22lr,-4in-black-m111000-new/products_id/4635?osCsid=ea1c2687afc06d7a60e82823c74a96a2

    Utility Hatchet?

I have the Fiskars axe that is identical to the Gerber Gator. I don't have the saw, so I can't comment on that, but I have been very happy with the axe. In retrospect, I wouldn't have minded getting the longer version (same head, longer handle). I got it for ~20 dollars, its easy to sharpen...

    $400 Gun
