Have you tried sandpaper and paint? Usually roughing up any sort of finish and painting will help the paint stick easier.

How does the gun shoot and how is the recoil on it? I'm looking at guns now and I really liked the feel of Kahr when I went to the shop yesterday.

It definitely should. Shotgun cocking is quite possibly the most intimidating sound in the world. As for me, I don't have a gun yet (getting one soon, though!) so I'm loving the ideas in this thread :)
