This is another one of those internet rumors like the S&W lock
failures, Glock kabooms, getting prosecuted because of your
trigger job, etc., ad nauseum.
I used to shoot IHMSA silhouette matches with a 10" .44 magnum
T/C. That was/is the most brutal recoiling gun I have ever fired.
The recoil was so bad that it would sheer the screws and the rear
sight would fly off. After a match my elbow would be bleeding, my
hand numb and my head aching. I...
You have a Dan Wesson Pistol-Pac. Very valuable. The "shim" is a
little tool to set the barrel/cylinder gap when the barrel has been
removed and replaced. The barrels and shrouds are quite valuable
by themselves ($150-$200 ea.). Enjoy your treasure.
Dear THR.
What are the advantages of 357 over a 9mm and 45acp? Are there any disadvantages?
The .357 is a faster moving round. A disadvantage would be recoil and
muzzle blast. Also the .357 is generally found in a revolver.
How effective is a 357 as a SD weapon?
Very effective.
Is...
I have a P226 that I did what you are asking. I just got a .357 Sig
barrel from Sig and dropped it in. No need to get different mags.
It works just fine.
NO, that is not what he was saying. He was saying that
a ported barrel will shoot lower than an unported barrel, no matter
who the hell makes it. Get some JBWELD and cover the holes up
and see if that fixes your problem.
I shoot the Federal XM40 180gr all the time in my Glock 22. I have
never had a problem with it. My Sig P226 likes it as well. SGAMMO.com
sells the XM40 for $19.95 I think. Case lots are less of course.
I would mind my own business which is what this guy would probably
have told you and most likely not in those words. I don't see why you
would want to get in an armed and possibly intoxicated man's
business. It's a no win situation.
If this man was a cop, he already thinks he's above the...
I can promise you the humidity where you live is nothing like
the humidity where I live on the Gulf Coast. That being said,
I use Kroil Weatherpruf. It will stop any metal from
rusting.
I don't own one and never want to own another one.
The polymer framed guns have some advantages:
- easier to maintain
- more reliable
- cheaper to purchase initially (for a quality pistol)
- very accurate
- higher capacity
I would guess there is nothing wrong with the barrel. You just
need a lower front sight. The higher velocity is causing you to
hit lower because the bullet is leaving the barrel faster.
