It's a model 10-7 2" barrel 6 shot fired 12 times. Bought in 1978 and has the original box. Trying to find out the value because we're looking to sell it. Family heirloom. Comes with original grips and original holster.

In my area, if you sold it directly to another individual I'd say $350 would be about right. Maybe even as high as $400. But that's my area. If you try to sell it to a Pawn Shop, I wouldn't go under $250.

Personally, I would not sell a nice gun like that. If you are set on that course of action though, before you just sell it to a stranger, do see if other family members might want it. It is a family heirloom after all, and there may be a newphew or cousin someplace that would genuinely treasure that fine S&W. Plenty of stories have been shared here on THR about family members selling off granddad's Luger he brought back from Europe to the consternation of close relatives.

BTW, welcome to THR.

Unfortunately we need the money and family is not willing to help us out with anything...they want, want, but never give anything in return when we need it most. We are in a really bad situation right now and need money to get out of here. We had the cops here yesterday and twice today. Can read more at https://www.causes.com/causes/658392-raising-2000-to-move-to-better-area-for-health and to donate would go to http://jessisfreedom.chipin.com/jessis-freedom

Then we could keep the heirloom like I would want my husband to do.:banghead:

I would guess your model 10 would be worth no more than
$350-$400. A dealer or pawnshop would probably give you
$250 max. Sorry for your plight.

WISHPONY: I forgot to ask, how do you plan on getting your
revolver to the buyer? You might want to look into this little
glitch.
