Remington 700
I know nothing about hunting bear or elk, but my Rem 700 in .308 is a dream to shoot, and I would assume any other caliber would follow the same.
I have the SPS Varmint which comes stock with a 26" heavy barrel and I consistently get .75" MOA groups with the factory loadout at...
"BAH!" to the XDM, says I, "BAH! Humbug."
When it comes to Glock styled handguns, I'm a purist. The Glock 19 is my favorite amongst the crew.
Personally I'd go for a Sig P239 if you want a good 9mm, but the Glock 19 is on par IMO. I just like the feel of the Sig better.
I've got an 18" 870 as well, and that looks pretty tempting, but I'd want something a little more universal, if possible, so I wouldn't have to have one for each of my guns...
Still, though, very nice. I'll keep that one in mind.
I was in Gander Mountain the other day browsing over accessories and I found an across the back holster for long guns... maybe I'm ignorant, but I didn't even know such a thing existed. I guess I can see the appeal of such a thing for those who would like the ability to carry their gun on their...
Bah to the semiauto, if it's not an assault rifle, the only semi automatic rifle I want is an M1A or M1 Garand, but the M1A is too expensive and the M1 Garand usually isn't in .308 (though a conversion is always a feasible option). :uhoh:
I have a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308 and not a...
I was going to recommend some XS ghost rings, but those are generally $60 and up. I have a set on my Remington 870 (18" barrel) and I love them. Simple and effective.
Just ignore me down here, I didn't look at the price of the set you were already talking about and recommended something "simpler" to save money, then noticed what I was recommending was about $40 more expensive than what you had listed.
>_>
*pay no attention to the moron behind the curtain*
I recently got ahold of these two old double barreled 12 gauges that used to belong to my grandfather. When he died about 14 years ago, they passed to my uncle, who left them on their wall mount untouched for at the very least 14 years, I don't know how long they had been there prior to that...
What's your preferred brand for concealed carry? I must say I love both, but will probably get myself a Sig before a Glock. I'm particularly a fan of the P239, its size and shape is near perfect by my estimation and it's engineered to work so amazingly smooth. Also has the most comfortable DA/SA...
Thanks, I managed to solve the problem after tinkering for an hour or so, and then I found a Tapco retaining plate at MidwayUSA, and I ordered that to replace the buggering thing.
Thanks for the help, though.
Thanks, I actually just finished re-assembling it and remembered I had posted this thread. Sorry for the hassle! I figured out how to position the shepherd's pin and ordered a retaining plate, which should be here in about 5 days.
Thanks anyway guys!
I was field stripping my WASR-10 for the first time to familiarize myself with it, and I decided to remove the safety selector because I want to notch it to hold back the action. When I removed the safety lever, this strange little pin popped off that I can find no practical use for. I can't...
I went to field strip my WASR-10 in order to remove the safety lever to notch it, and this little... pin... thingy popped off. I can find no discernible use for it, no place to hook it, or any purpose for it's being there, all I know is it was attached to the safety lever internally.
Despite...
I'm thinking about getting a multi-barrel rifle as a trainer for a few young acquaintences of mine ranging in age from 9 to 14. I've considered the Rossi Triple Play for its price, but I'd like to hear some opinions first. My main concern is a .22 LR barrel and a center fire barrel of some sort...
Remington 700 in one of the Varmint models, I have the SPS, which is a terrific rifle, but I will probably swap out the stock for a higher grade synthetic at some point in the future.
