    Brown Bess ball size

Anybody shoot a Pedersoli Bess and care to share what size ball they use? I don't have it yet as it's backordered. I see Lyman has two sizes in .75 caliber, a .715 and a .735. I was thinking of going the paper cartridge route for plinking and a cloth patch for hunting so I guess I will need two...

    Sandy

Noisey night in Jersey, rain and bad high winds but safe and no damage to my house. My sister in law was not so lucky she's safe (evacuated). Her house in Ocean City NJ is under water and she's told she won't be allowed back on island untill Saturday at the earliest.

    Springfield - Enfield Muskets

Any comments or preferences between the two. I have one of each new in the boxes and can't decide between the two which one to keep. Their both Armi Sports. The fit and finish on both are great and have nice crisp trigger pulls and nice wood (I hand picked both of these guns). I picked them up...

I talked with a Gettysburg Civil War sutler who sells repro black powder arms and he told me Euroarms USA who made quality Civil War repro arms like the 1861 Springfield rifle musket and 1853 Enfield as well as many others has closed it doors for good.

    New Enfield followed me home

I've been trying to decide on a musket for a while now and ended up with an Armi Sport 1853 3 band Enfield, I like the looks of the 1861 Springfiels better and could not decide, but after examining quite a few Springfields I could not find one that did not have at least a 47 pound trigger...

    Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter

Back in the 70's I sort of remember a caplock rifle that was called the Buffalo Hunter, I think it was sold by Navy Arms. It was .58 caliber and looked like it was a sort of cut down 2 band zouave. Anyone use one of these and are they still around?

    Colt Paterson

I thought the Paterson repro's had been discontinued but I see on Uberti's new site: http://www.ubertireplicas.com/black_powder-patterson.php that they still offer them. I see that they offer two models, one with a loading lever and one without. Where the origional Patersons avaible both ways?

I did not have much time as I...

    Remington conversion cylinder

I like cap and ball revolvers mainly for what they are, but I have been thinking lately of trying one of these in my Remington Navy just for the hell of it. Does anyone here have any first hand experience with these cylinders? How hard are they to fit to the revolver? which brand is the best...

    Remington 36 and Walker 44

Just added this Remington 1858 to the stable, Walker for size comparison. I wasn't in the market for another 36 but I was so impressed with the Uberti 1858 Navy that I had to have it. Fit and finish is perfect, about the only thing I could fault if the reddish vanish on the grips, but that is...
