How do I know if I need a riser rail?

I think I posted this in the wrong section, so I will try here. Just bought a Sight Mark Laser Dual Reflex sight for my AR, and was wondering if I should mount it right to the flattop, or should i use a riser rail? How would i know if I need one? How high, etc? Thanks in advance.

    870 express tactical questions

I bought the 870 Express myself a few months ago, and added the Hi-Viz Front Sight for the 870. Makes a big difference looking down the barrel. I also picked up a light mount on Ebay for around 10 bucks, and put a flashlight in it. Works pretty good, I think.

Help me pick out a snubbie .357 for CCW

Thanks for the great info! To me, and this is just my opinion, the perfect CCW would have to be a revolver. No jams, no FTE's, no bs. My recent experience with my M&P .45 I bought confirms how I feel about semi autos as it jammed after only about 200 rounds through it. I like target shooting...

Help me pick out a snubbie .357 for CCW

Some great info here, thanks. My main CCW for now is a SW Airweight 442 in .38 spl. Just looking for a similar CCW with more of a bang, so to speak. My Airweight is not setup for +P ammo, as it is an older model. I think a snubbie .357 fits the bill, with 5 rounds, hammerless, nice and...

Help me pick out a snubbie .357 for CCW

Title says it all, was looking at the M&P 340, but was wondering about Taurus and Rugers. Need to be very concealable, short barrel, for daily CCW. 5 rounds ok.

Is it me or my M&P?

I just got my M&P 45 Midsize back from a local gunsmith, who installed some Triji nightsights for me. I had my second range session today and was ready to go with 300 rounds of target ammo. First range session was around 3 weeks ago and put 200 through it. First mag the second round of Speer...

So, what do you think about your M&P?

I just picked up the .45 midsize, and love it. Shoots straight and smooth.

Help me pick some gear for my M&P 45

That is a great thought. No piece of equipment is any good without proper training. My LE firearms training has been courtesy of the State of NY for the last 15 years. :D

Help me pick some gear for my M&P 45

Thanks. I have seen several on Ebay for my M&P in the 200 to 250 range. Not too bad. It was in the back of my mind when I picked out the M&P, but didnt know if I should do both or not. I probably will. Next up...the .308

Help me pick some gear for my M&P 45

Thanks guys. I am leaning towards either the Trijicon or Meprolight sights. Was wondering if it would be overkill to have both Night Sights and the laser. Those Minotaur holsters are sweet, that iis exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I think they offer a law enforcement discount as well.

Help me pick some gear for my M&P 45

I just picked up an M&P .45 for a great price, and was wondering if I should upgrade to night sights (which ones) or a Crimson Trace grip, or both? Need to grab a holster or two also, one IWB, one out. Any advice? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Newbie help

I have learned quite a bit from this site, and need some help selecting a holster for a SW MP45 and my SW Model 10 4 inch. Not a big fan of paddles, but like IWB if its comforable. A belt holster scabbard would be ok too. Suggestions? This is my first post, BTW.
