    MacPherson/Schwartz Penetration Formula

    What makes the MacPherson/Schwartz formula so accurate? Also, I was curious if anyone could be a BIG help to me, by doing the MacPherson/Schwartz Penetration Formula for a 147 Grain FMJ @ 908 FPS (9mm American Eagle Flat Point FMJ-AE9FP). I've scoured the internet and just can't find it. Thanks.
