07 FFL Sales Question

Hey, anyone with an 07 or an 01 might be able to answer this question.

In the normal chain of sales from manufacturer to customer, does the 07 typically sell to a distributor with an 01, who then in turn sells to a common retailer with an 01?

I'm trying to understand the supply chain from the manufacturer in typical cases. Read a couple of cases involving manufacturer to distributor to retailer and thought that was the typical arrangement but then again perhaps some manufacturers (smaller ones?) might sell to a retailer directly. Like the SA promotions where an FFL buys 10 and gets one free or something similar. What is the typical model of business for the big 07s?

It varies. The really big guys (Ruger, Remington, FN/Browning, etc.) typically sell only to distributors. The distributors then sell to retailers. Even some smaller manufacturers have exclusive deals with particular distributors. Many small manufacturers, however, sell directly to retailers.
