This is a 10/22 with full size Walnut stock, target trigger and tapered Varmint weight 20" barrel, 1" at reciever to .75 at muzzle. Been looking for one since I discovered them by accident about 6 months ago, it was/is a 'distributor 'exclusive'. From everything I could find they havent been readily available for about 18 months. Started clicking on the 'notify me' buttons on about a dozen web sites. Got a call from a guy that had a Stainless and 2 blued ones a week ago but the price was steeper then I thought it should be. Waited a week and was just gonna place an order for the SS when I got an email last night that another vendor had a Blued one for $100 less . Total cost was $319 including shipping + $25 transfer on my end. Will do a range report once I get it set up with a scope.

p.s. Checked the vendor I ordered from this morning and they are 'out of stock - on order' again...got lucky I guess.

Can't go wrong with a 10/22. Great rifles especially with the heavier barrels. Don't forget to join Rime Fire Central so you can add $1000 worth of extras;)

May want to double check on the stock, I believe it is walnut stained hardwood, not walnut, regardless, nice rifle.

Birch is a hardwood but is cheaper, harder to stain, and not as pretty by most peoples standards.

I happen to like birch.

Good find. Its always nice to find what youre looking for especially after a long search.

My dad uses that gun for CMP rimfire match. He has 2. He changes the stock to a Hogue, sends the gun out for work. Cuts the barrel to 18" crowns it, Bentz chamber, polished bolt and a trigger job. Thing will put 10 rounds in a dime.

Lucky me I got the wood stock to go on my standard Sporter rifle. Much nicer stock than the standard birch or plastic.

Not sure though that the trigger is any better. Don't know of any stock 10/22's with upgraded triggers from Ruger. Too many lawyers to keep happy.

My 'factory' 10/22 Target has a factory target trigger that's MUCH better then the regular carbine triggers...not as good as my Win52 or Kimber 82 though.

Ruger LVT 1235

Got mine about a year ago, soon as I got it home, dissasembled it,cleaned it,drilled the rear of the receiver for the cleaning rod.Releived the hole in the bolt hold back, for a quick release of the bolt.Bought and installed the Kidd trigger kit.Installed a Weaver 1/2" high one piece base,Tru-Glo 6x24x44 A.O.Infinity scope.Have been shooting flies and Yellow jackets off my fifty yard targets since.

My stock 10/22 will do close to that at 50yds on a good day

Picked up the 10/22 LVT today. Came with the 50th anniversary reciever and bolt. Haven't pulled it from the stock yet so don't know if the 'Target Trigger' is adjustable.
Put the trigger scale on it and it breaks clean at 4lb 0oz repeatably with little creep, but lots of post travel.
Extra scope and rings are ready to go, now for some warmer weather. 25° and snowing (3-6") today.

what's special about the receiver and bolt vs. some graphics?

Nothing but receiver stamped 50th and bolt has an etched 50th emblem. Kinda thought it was interesting though since this is the second part of a distributor exclusive rifle that the first 1/2 was run over 2 years ago before the big panic buy. Ruger put the second part of the order on hold to get caught up with 'their' guns. At any rate looks to be a good balanced rifle...only a range test will tell.

These are a really nice configuration. I had a hard time not bringing one home but alas, walnut would've sealed the deal.

I actually like this configuration better then my factory 10/22 target. The longer light varmint weight barrel balances nice and overall is the same weigh as the HB Target. The 10x Weaver target scope is ready to be mounted for a range test. Long term either a 4x16 or 6x18 will go on if I can find one with a 40mm AO objective.

Range test

Did a good cleaning of the LVT last night. Checked the bore with a bore light and it didn't look overly smooth. Did 25 strokes with a bore swab coated with oil and buffing compound. Results were a very clean and shiney bore. Had relativly nice weather ~50° and gusty 10-15 mph wind so I took it to the range, sighted it in and seasoned the barrel with 50 rounds. Shot a Rimfire challange target scoring an OK 82. Played with sighting in and seasoning with another 50 rounds. Ended by shooting a 5/8" edge to edge, 20 shot group at 50 yards. Not bad for a 10/22 that cost under $350 delivered INCLUDING the transfer fee. :neener:

Did some FREE 'tune ups' on the LVT today. Using information from TheWorks 1022.com book, I polished up the trigger assy and modified the bolt hold back so it's auto release now. Trigger that broke at 4.0# from the factory breaks at 3.0# now and the bolt releases by just pulling back on it. It was already under 1/2" at 50yd gun, Let's see what it will do. 10/22 haters beware, for $319 a sleeper is in the works. :neener:

Very nice rifle. There have been some great deals going around on the distributor exclusive editions since 10/22s have started coming back in stock. I just picked up a Talo International Classic for $293 a couple weeks ago.

The LVT is the only 10/22 I've got a desire for. Its the feature set I want in a 22 auto loader. Hope you enjoy yours for many years.

Ya some of the distributor exclusives are really nice for not much over a basic carbine price. Carbines are going for $225-250 and I paid $319 for the LVT with a decent stock, target trigger and medium heavy barrel. Basically all the upgrades people do. Looking at mine last night I figured out why it points so we'll, the receiver fits INTO the stock. You don't have that 3/4 or inch receiver sticking up above the stock. Makes cheek weld really nice on a low mounted scope.

You need to go to rimfire central and check out the thread for removing the trigger return spring and replacing it with an internal one. This works with stock triggers not sure about the target trigger though. This will allow you to convert the plunger and spring used to reset the trigger into a trigger over travel stop. Check it out I did it to mine and it made my trigger one of the best I own ,all for just a little time and a few bucks.
