Warning on rifle clearly states it is not to be dry fired.

How does one not dry fire after running out of ammo? (no bolt hold open, I know you could count but who does that on a 25 round magazine)

Is this design so far different from the Ruger that dry firing will indeed damage the gun, unlike a regular 10/22?

Any properly designed bolt/firing pin combination for a rim fire cartridge should not allow the firing pin to protrude far enough to make contact with the reciever when the firing pin is struck. Dry firing could theoretically cause stress cracks in a heat treated firing pin but I think these guys are merely doing a CYA by including that language.

Magnum Research promptly returned my email. Basically said shoot it and don't worry about it but don't sit around dry firing it.
