10/22 stocks

I have a synthetic and stainless 10/22 carbine, will a wood stock off of a regular size 10/22 fit?

I don't want to start whacking away at the synthetic stock, and figure I can cut down the 10/22 wood stock for it to fit my daughter well. I've found several of the wood stocks for 15-25 bucks, local to me.

They're pretty standard- should fit just fine. Just look to see that the stock you're buying hasn't been hacked on (eg. inletted for a bull barrel). Take a couple of measurements of your barrel channel and compare to those of the one you're looking at. There's little anyone would do to the receiver area that wouldn't be immediately obvious that should affect fitting your receiver. That said, a well bedded/pillared action area would be a nice bonus.
