10-5 firing pin

The firing pin and floats freely in the slot in the hammer, but the firing pin is not retained in the down position by a spring. I've heard that some S&W revolvers were made this way, but all of my other S&W revolvers with a firing pin on the hammer are held in the down position by a spring... I noticed this while cleaning it this weekend after firing about 150 rounds without any issues.

Is my 10-5 firing pin normal and one of the ones made like this or is there something wrong?

Spring or no spring...Both are correct and not a problem...

My 10-5 is the same way , no spring & has touched the top of the frame at some point in time !!
