10 Most Concealable Weapons (including Razorblade Cap)

That's actually a clip from a police training video called "Surviving Edged Weapons" put out by Calibre Press in 1988. Whoever posted it didn't credit the source.

I used the video when training police academy classes. Overall a good resource, though some of the information is dated by now. It was especially effective for making students aware of how much of a threat an edged weapon actually represents.

I had a local sheriff's deputy dismiss the training videos as being posed and done with actors so therefore completely false. He loudly and vehemently assured everyone of that and that he could shoot an attacker in the head. When I pointed out that they were demonstrating Tueller's lesson learned and that the scenarios were realistic and that even someone like me could close the distance between us and stop him from drawing and do enough damage to disable him he escalated his bombast to "I'd just shoot you in the "haid"." Suffice it to say the inevitable demonstration in front of those present showed he was very mistaken.

I prefer my 3 foot walking cane. It is "concealed" in plain sight because it serves another function.

to any experienced police officers out there, how many of these have you guys actually seen in real life?

i mean, some of them i can see people trying......but i find it hard to believe there are scores of razor capped fish hook ladened ninjas out there..

Several,
Ice pick up sleeve - broke his arm.
Razor hidden in afro, - I got cut, he got shot by my partner.
Hooker knife, - she lost a tooth.

One not mentioned is a ring knife.

Knifes in the hand of determined person can be bad news wither your armed or not. I for one like the fact that I have a solid stock cane or better with me all the time.

I'll bet biker doc is old enough to remember injector razor blades taped half their length and shirts with removable colar staves, eh?

And single edge razor like is used today as a scrapper stuck in the crack between the heel of a leather soled shoe (would you believe such a blade showed up on the field of a highschool foot ball came in a players shoe when I was in high school? and yes he was sent to the showers)

We had some cut nail fans around here ( and while I ain't nameing names they still are) for a bit.

There is currently another topic or two discussing the use of small knives for slashing and the effectiveness of such. Some discard shallow slashing as pointless. Visit an emergency room on say a Friday payday, checks came out, fleets in, full moon (huh, last night!) and look around a bit.......

Years ago I saw a guy that had a "pouch" in the tip of his finger. Inside the pouch was half of an injector razor blade. The pouch was made in a manner such as today's piercingd. He got very drunk and cut a slit between skin layers at the tip of the finger. He inserted the blade. Usung antibacterial products and moving the blade around so it did not get stuck, the finger healed with a pouch. The blade cannot be seen when it is tucked completely into the pouch. Yet, it was big enough to slit your throat.
