10 rnd 9mm 1911 magazines

I see Wilson Combat is now offering 10 rnd 9mm 1911 magazines, as is Tripp Research. Kinda pricey @ $35 and $33 each, respectively, for an extra round's capacity. Both companys produce excellent products, but has anyone had any experience with either of these?

I just fondelled a buddies ss pro II in 40 cal. He uses tripp mags and swears gy them. He says it has been 100% with them. I'm going to get some of their followers for all three of my 9mm mags. That seems to be the problem with mags for my 9mm 1911. The followers, many times, like to stick out and prevent the mag from being ejected until I poke it back down with my finger. Tripp followers have better support that don't allow those problems.

I recently bought three Wilson and three Tripp 10 round mags for my Les Baer PII in 9mm. I had bought three Springfield 9 round rubber baseplate with the crease in the front, one Springfield 9 round with a flat base and one springfield 38 special with the round follower. The Baer mag appears to be a Springfield 9 rounder as well.

The Wilsons have been perfect. One Tripp has given me trouble with hollow points and flat nosed bullets, the other two have been good. The Springfields are all functioning well. I had a poorly tuned extractor and was buying mags thinking it was a mag problem. Now I have a dozen mags, oh well.....

I shoot 38 super(close enough for this question) I have found that 10 round mags in my gun are too tight to carry 10+1 the first one out of the mag seems to fail about half of the time. I had 4 mags from 2 diffrent manufacturers and I sold them. I will stick to the standard 9 rounders. Might just be my gun though I do know a couple of folks that run 10 rounders with out a problem.

Thanks for your input. All 'n all, I think I'll just stick with my Mecgar 9 rounnders and practice some more. If I were just starting to kit a new gun I'd maybe go with the Wilsons or Tripps, but at this point, the extra $$ vs 1 more rnd doesn't make sense for me. Thx again.

Little late but I just bought the trippresearch 10 rounders for use in my sti trojan 9mm. They function fine. Not so much as a hiccup.

My Wilson Combat 10-rd ETM magazines have been flawless in my stainless Springfield M1911A1 Loaded model in 9x19mm.

There is just a slight difference in the rim width between the .38 Super (which is larger and semi-rimmed) and the 9mm. This may be why the .38 Super mags are too snug with 10 rounds and the 9mm mags mentioned above seem to work better. Just enough difference to mess things up........
