My 1006 has fixed rear sights and I would like to put on an adjustable rear. Question is, should I order a factory set up from Numrich for $77 or go with an aftermarket set up? Will aftermarket decrease the gun value later on in life?

Since you all talked me into keeping it and buying a G20 outright, I might as well upgrade the 1006 to my liking.

The original factory adjustable sight for a 1006 requires a different slide. It has a large flat milled on it where the sight attaches.

If you want to use the dovetail that is on your current slide, you can use a sight made by LPA. That is the current adjustable sight sold by Smith & Wesson for slides with rear dovetails.
