Tall front sight needed for Ruger P89

My Google-fu is weak. I looked with no luck. This gun belongs to a friend and shoots about a foot high at 30ft regardless of ammo. The rear sight is adjustable for windage only and can't be channeled out much deeper.

Does any one know of a taller front sight? Should he try a new aftermarket set with an adjustable rear sight? I'm afraid a new adjustable rear would be nearly the same as what he has. Thanks.

I seem to remember seeing posts by some people at rugerforum.com that contacted Ruger to get different height front sights when they were having similar issues. I don't know if they would have anything or not now as I don't believe they support the P-series pistols anymore. I would probably call and ask though as you don't really have anything to lose.

I went & looked after seeing your posts as Ruger does still sell some stuff for the P-series pistols on their site at shopruger but all I saw was some fiber optic type sights for sale. If I went that route I would call them and inquire about the height of their sight to make sure it was taller than what I already had before purchasing.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to talk with someone at Ruger since its so old and its a guessing game. Mac (gunsmith) at the LGS suggested similar.
