OK, I've decided to buy a new Colt Delta Elite SS in 10mm. My question is this: Can I get a 40 S&W barrel for this? Also, is it a drop in?
Yes you can get a 40 barrel for it. Will probably need fitting.OK, I've decided to buy a new Colt Delta Elite SS in 10mm. My question is this: Can I get a 40 S&W barrel for this? Also, is it a drop in?
I agree. I already own a Glock 20 with LW .40 barrel. I'm hoping shooting 40's from the Delta will be just as easy.http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/cid=...ridge_65=xzzx40+SzzxzzW/Products/1911-Barrels
That is one nice thing about a Glock 20. Drop in 40 barrels can be had as low as $100.
Just Google Lone Wolf Dist. or www.glockstore.com. They are about $115.Do you happen to have any links for a .40 barrel for a Glock 20? Especially for around $100?
Thanks.

IIRC, If you spend $150 or more, you get a 10% discount at the glockstore.Just Google Lone Wolf Dist. or www.glockstore.com. They are about $115.
Not sure about the ramped barrel. I don't know anything about 1911's. I have to order the gun. After it has been fitted, can you just interchange them like a glock?Yes, you can get a 40 caliber barrel for your 10mm.
I have a Kimber 40 caliber that I fit a 10mm barrel to. Mine works great.
I use 10mm mags for the 40 caliber.
Plan on fitting or paying to have fit any barrel you buy.
Does your Colt have a ramped or non ramped barrel?
Yes you can interchange the barrels. The 40 will use a 14 to 16 pound recoil spring and the 10mm uses a 20 to 24 pound recoil spring. Not sure about the ramped barrel. I don't know anything about 1911's. I have to order the gun. After it has been fitted, can you just interchange them like a glock?
Using two different barrels, a 40 caliber and a 10mm.Dont think you are supposed to shoot 40 in 10 because of head spacing. But it functions fine in glock 20.
Yes I understand what you are talking about, but the OP was asking if he could drop a 40 caliber barrel in his 10mm Colt Delta 1911.1 barrell 10 mm but it head spaces on the ejector.
Off topic, but no. General Tso's chicken was invented in America- it is largely unknown in mainland China. The Qing Dynasty general had nothing to do with the dish, other than lending his name to it decades after his death.hrm... Odd thought. Do they think about General Tso in CHina the way we think of Colonel Sanders in the USA?
It's also possible that there's someone making commercial 10mm "FBI" or 10mm Lite loads (although unlikely, since the 40 S&W was derived from them), if you don't reload.
1 barrell 10 mm but it head spaces on the ejector.
Well that eliminates the whole purpose of the 10mm. Sheesh!Gungir
Except for the specialized ammo companies Corbon, Buffalo Bore and Double Tap, all your regular 10mm ammo on the market is basically the "FBI Lite" version, with the exception of the Winchester Silver Tips, which are a bit hotter, but still way below full SAAMI spec for the cartridge.
The 3 brands I mentioned above are the only full power 10mm commercial loads I know.....the lite loads are the rule not the exception in the 10mm ammo world.
