Of the rounds listed, which one would be the best for personal protection out of a sub compact 9mm????

Which would have better stopping power and expansion????

Please vote and explain why and where you got your information.

The round can very depending on the gun and ammo. Ranger T-Series 147gr out of a G26 is pretty awsum. T-Series ammo is not as velocity Dependant as older ammo designs.

Gold Dot in order to keep up put out the SB line and Federal did the HST. The neat thing about new ammo designs is that all of the old rules are void. Great thing other than the SB is you can buy one box of ammo and it will work in all of your guns of that caliber.

I voted 127 even though Im a fan of the heavier rounds. Out of a sub compact though, Im sceptical about them with their already fairly low MV. Out of smaller barrels I like the mid range weights to keep velocity up but still have some weight behind it. Truthfully though, I think any of the weights with a good bullet is going to serve you well.

I voted 124 which I use in more guns but I use whichever will shoot POA I have a tauri 905 that loves 147s.I also wouldn't hesatate to use 115+p+

I voted 115 because it functions in my guns*...haven't tried enought 124 to have an opinion yet.

Cor-Bon 115 JHP, Wal-Mart 115 Ball, federal 9BP, and 9BPLE seem to function just dandy. I don't see any need to change.

*..edit.

There are a couple of 9X19s that I haven't fooled around with enough to get a preference. But for the Kahrs, BHPs, and Colt P-9, I'll stay with the 115s mentioned above.

My two 9mm guns seem to prefer the 147's for accuracy. I really could not elaborate on penetration or expansion. I have yet to test that.

115 grain too please

YES :what: I did and do want opinions on the 115 grain bullet chambered in 9mm.

Please give me your advise on these grains and which one to use

the 115 loads I'd recomend would be in no particular order corbon dpx,win ranger +p+ or fed 9bple +p+

i choose the 115gr, the +p+ varient is a great one. as well as the 124+p which is another great alternative. either one will serve you well.

Since you did not list what handgun you are wanting to use it in, I would have to say whichever one functions well in YOUR gun. I have played around with most of them in different guns and there is a major difference in what will feed reliably. The 115g that feeds in your gun is a lot better than one heavier that jams it up. Unless you have tons of money to test them all, you're never gonna know for sure.

I'd say the 124 +P

Gold Dot Short Barrel

I think they understand the subcompact expansion and velocities for their bullet the best.

if this was just my favorite 9mm weight for a full size or 4" gun, then I'd say differently: I'd say 115s in the summer with heavier for the winter, but for the short barrel, I really like the theory and research behind the GDSB.

Grandpa knows...

Its what is reliable through your magazines and out of the ejection port.

Polls don't count.

I started with 115s and have seen no reason to change. That make/model (115 Federal 9BP, and 9BPLE) was suggested by an aquainence whose observaions I respect. And they were reliable through whatever I have tried them through..to date.

If there is a realistic perceived need for more mass, try a .357, 9X21, 9X23, .40, etc.

It is, I think, the platform, and what is reliable in it, not whats being advertised in the latest magazine article as new.
